Persona: Ico goes about his day with a level amount of skepticism. He tries to keep a level head, but situations around him tend to undermine that effort. He tends to joke around on the job, but when things, particularly people, pass the threshold of stupidity, he becomes very stoic. He's very comfortable around people he knows, and in contrast, is typically off-putting to people he does not. Ico tends to be realistic about problems, and is not afraid to cut his losses. Moreover, he hates to procrastinate, and prefers to just finish a job rather than leave it be.

History:

Darius Ico grew up Station-Side, on a now-defunct Beirut Station, orbiting a fringe planet. From a young age, Ico worked in the scrapyards, processing metal and working on jury-rigged electronics. His parents, while typically busy with their own numerous low-wage jobs, believed this was the best way for him to learn responsibility and acquire a trade. During this time, Darius developed inherent skills in electrical engineering and the like.

At age seventeen, Ico was booked by Colonial Marshals for tampering with Station property. Darius, now at this point assigned to working in Engineering, had disabled power to certain parts of the station, after his family had been forced off for missed payments, but he was required to stay due to his worker's contract. Ico's childish attempt at getting back at Beirut Station earned him four years at Weyland-Yutani's Daedalus Facility.

His time at Daedalus was short, but was never lacking in unpleasant moments. Ico, still a kid at best, was forced to deal with unruly mobs and killers that he had unfortunately been roped into. However, his time at Beirut was not a safe neighborhood either, and Ico had learned when to pick his battles. It was there that he also met Lawson, a current friend of his in the Corps. Weyland-Yutani, maintaining a close relationship with the USCM, offered parole programs to convicts residing in Daedalus who had Third-Class Offense or lower. Believing this was his best option, Darius enlisted at the age of twenty-one, along with Lawson.

Officer programs not available to him, Ico faced the brunt of basic training like all the rest. Through this, he quickly learned that he worked well under pressure, and had the capability to lead small groups of marines into combat. While he expected to be assigned as an Engineer, on multiple occasions, Ico was assigned as a Squad Leader in simulation combat. This carried weight for him and the higher-ups as he progressed outside of Basic. Over the course of the next six years, Darius Ico would advance to the rank of Staff Sergeant, and would continue to serve with the Colonial Marines as "penance for his crimes." He enjoyed the job and was with good company, and had no complaints. As of now, Darius Ico is stationed aboard the USS Sulaco, a light transport vessel, and has been in cryo-stasis for the last month.
