USMC Dossier - Persh Aggley

Post by Halinder » 20 Mar 2016, 19:08

Full name: Persh Mauren Aggley

Nickname(s): Perish, Assley.

Age: 21.

Birth date: June 21st, 2129

Gender: Male

Position: Corporal, either as a specialist or squad marine.

Notable traits: About as average as can be, you can forget what he looks like even while talking to him. A surgical scar across his scalp is about the only notable feature on his whole body.

Persona: Despite being a genuinely nice person, Persh often pretends to think differently depending on the situation. Sometimes he'll make fun of people harmlessly, other times he'll pretend to be angry in order to get someone to do something. It's very hard to tell what his real emotional state is at any given point.

History: He has taken part in three operations so far.
- Morbid Grail, a platoon-sized raid with supporting air and armored units upon a hostile prison complex holding captive marines. Though friendly support was overwhelming, bad intelligence failed to reveal at least four times the expected count of enemy units defending the compound. Unable to use most of their heavy weaponry due to the risk of accidentally harming the marine captives inside the compound (the prisoners had been moved outside for a "demonstration"), Operation Morbid Green was discontinued. The captives were never seen again.
- Lone Coffin, an assault on a bandit camp consisting of six squads of marines in an armored convoy. Hostile small arms fire failed to penetrate the M577 APC's, and before the bandits could set up their crew-serviced machine guns, the M577's dual electric gatling cannons decimated their position. Each squad deployed to clear the area, and within forty minutes the operation was completed with 46 confirmed kills and 3 casualties due to IED's and a friendly fire incident.
- Raining Citadel, the rescue of a boarded USMC aircraft carrier taken over by pirate crews bolstered by an Iron Bear captain. By the time friendly forces reached the location, the aircraft carrier had already been taken. Troop carrier USS Sulaco and dreadnaught USS Neruda responded. While the Neruda destroyed the hostile troop carrier -- truly a repurposed merchant vessel used to raid other ships -- the USS Sulaco deployed four squads into the hangar of a repair craft, which connected to the vessel's engineering bay. A single scan of the ship's power control console revealed that the raiders were not attempting to take the vessel, but rather destroy it; APC's were being actively destroyed across the aircraft carrier, and atmosphere alarms revealed breaches in several hangars expanding into main halls. Delta squad was assigned to guard engineering for fear of core detonation, or worse, plasma leaks into the main atmospheric distribution loops. Alpha and Bravo were set to seek and destroy duty while Charlie ferried supplies and patrolled the area between the three squads. A hostile pirate squad was intercepted and killed while moving to sabotage engineering, but managed to get a message out just as Alpha and Bravo reached the carrier's cargo area (a five minute walk, considering that this was much larger than the Sulaco). Overwhelming hostile forces, dressed mainly in vulnerable space suits but with high-explosives capable of breaching the hull, forced Alpha and Bravo back with four casualties. Consistent burst fire towards potential entry points held the pirates away while Charlie ferried back the dead and wounded, though engineers made the mistake of repairing the hall's APC -- firelocks came down, blocking each fireteam from covering vital points. Pirates detonated high explosives outside the firelocks, breaching Alpha and Bravo's location whilst outright killing several marines. Borrowing space suits from the carrier's EVA station, Charlie squad pushed forward and rescued each squad just as they began collapsing from pressure differentials (each marine had internals, so suffocation was not a problem). The six-person squad needed three trips to recover everyone, and Persh was assigned to watching the wounded between each trip. Two more high explosive attempts were met with a storm of M41A fire, each shot lethal to the pirates dressed in unarmored space suits -- thank God they didn't use guns themselves. The armed bombs detonated a safe distance away, though each created even more pressure differentials that threatened to suck each marine into space. Soon enough, however, each wounded marine was ferried back to the maintenance hangar, where they were returned to the Sulaco for treatment and resupply. Central Command elected to instead scuttle the ship entirely, and the USS Neruda proceeded to bombard it into scrap in a spectacular mix of massive HE rounds and a supermatter core detonation.

Relations: He's extremely off and on with just about everyone. While on one operation he may be best friends with someone, the next he'll completely forget about them.

Basic appearance: White-skinned with a light tan, brown short hair, brown eyes, mesomorphic build -- really, he's just the average marine.

Likes: Cooperation. Persh honestly believes that no one person can make a difference in the world, but a group can change the universe.

Dislikes: Failure -- no one likes it, but some people learn from it. Persh does not learn, he only loathes.

Strengths: Good shot, high pain tolerance, and a swift hand mark this marine, just like many others. His skills are not exactly unique.

Weaknesses: Either through an altruistic desire to not watch others die or through the wish to continue his reputation as squad kill leader, Persh always wants to be at the front of the squad, or right at the SL's side.

Other Info: Absolutely enjoys pasta and, by default, is disgusted by the USCM's sorry excuse for a pasta MRE. He has a sweetheart back at home who, unknown to him, is cheating with three men.

So that's who it is. Every time I get caught, there's always one xeno who practically parks on me.
