History: Born on LV-833, Argo, she is the daughter of Colonial Marine Sergeant First Class Wyatt Lafortune, and Colonial Marshal Andrea Lafortune, and she was practically born into the Corps. From the age of 10, Ruby was taught how to behave with integrity, and later, at age 14, she was taught discipline, and honour, and how to follow orders, by attending the Lancelot Military Academy, and finally she was taught how to be a soldier by enlisting in the United States Colonial Marine Corps, and receiving training aboard the USS Wyoming, a training vessel. After finishing her basic training on the USS Wyoming, she was assigned to the USS Hamilton, where she spent a year with no combat missions, then was reassigned to the USS Sulaco, where she spent another year, and engaged in five combat missions.
