How To Help Your Medic
There are many things I hate seeing as a medic, but here are a few that I know you people out there can actually help with;
1. If you see more than one medic helping a wounded man and there are more wounded in the room that need help, REMIND THEM YOU ONLY NEED ONE MEDIC TO A MAN.
2. If you see someone that has been facehugged very recently, help intent them until they stand up, they can then pull out their 'Handy-Dandy BootknifeTM' and click on the facehugger taking up their mask slot, this kills the hugger and allows you to remove it WITHOUT BREAKING YOUR SKULL OR TAKING DAMAGE AT ALL.
3. For the love of god, never drag someone, ever, if you need to move them, get a bed or use Grab intent and reinforce it. Every time you drag someone with a broken bone or bleeding wound there is a chance that they will take EVEN MORE DAMAGE.
4. PACK A ROLL OF GAUZE IN YOUR BACKPACK, THIS CURES BLEEDING, if you find yourself in an FOB with the only medic healing a dying man, but you're bleeding out, you can stop yourself from dying by just gauzing the wound, BUT IT ONLY STOPS BLEEDING, IT DOES NOT HEAL AT ALL, YOU WILL NEED MEDICAL ATTENTION. Feel free to pack Tricord and a Health Analyzer as well, all three of these are available at any NanoMed to marines.
5. Do not tell your medic what he needs to do, unless you can see he's obviously bald, and even then, you'll still probably die before he patches the bleeding hand you had as he splints every un-broken bone in your body. As a medic I get really annoyed when you PFC's tell me "Just need Oxy doc" or the time-honored classic "FUCKING TRAMADOL, WHERE IS THE TRAMADOL, WHY ARE YOU NOT GIVING ME TRAMADOL", my Health Analyzer tells me more than you know, which means I then know more than you, so don't tell me how to do my job.
6. Moving, at all, when there's a medic trying to examine why your health bar is Red in his MedicHUD, is grounds for Medic's giving up on your worthless ass and moving onto a patient that ACTUALLY STANDS STILL AND CLEARLY WANTS TO BE HEALED, even if you don't think you need a medic? TOO FUCKING BAD, you stand still and take your damn medication, "But doc, it's only a little scratch", most of you don't realise, almost all aliens stand a chance of breaking a limb with 2-3 slashes to the exact same limb, even if you think you're barely hurt, you just might be one slash away from a broken skull.
tl;dr - Listen to Medics, if they start talking, you better be listening, the men and woman wearing the red cross should be treated like gods, they keep you in the round, remember that. And pay attention to what they're doing, if you see a medic treating somebody else? Don't annoy them about getting you sorted, just remind them when they're done, and if you see one moving towards you and you know your not at 100% health? Freeze, before they yell at you to do so. Pissing off a medic too much CAN lead to them just ignoring you outright, this is terrible and should never be done, but don't expect it to not happen.

Is Tramadol only effective when it's being metabolised? In that case, if the painkiller effects stop, does that means it's time to take another dosage of tramadol? Does that, then, effectively mean you can be running on painkillers the entire time?

Re: How To Help Your Medic
Yes, it only works while it metabolises, the upside is that takes a good while to finish up, however if you feel like being a really lazy medic, you can pick three men from any squad, and give each of them a health analyzer and a bottle of tramadol pills, so they can tell when they need to pop a pill again, these three items are available from medic vendors. If you want to go even further, you can then take the tramadol and health analyzers from Medical's NanoMed Vendors and kit out up to 20 more marines with their own Analyzers and Tramadol bottles.Youbar wrote:Is Tramadol only effective when it's being metabolised? However unless you coordinated this perfectly, the pills would never be used to their fullest potential, some pill carriers would OD themselves, others would forget about the pills, and some might accidentally drop and forget about them.
If you paid attention to the chat logs and checked around, you would definitely be able to run this strategy with the more reliable and constant players of the game, some might protest to it, preferring proper medical treatment or combat-chems of a different variety, but once again, this is one of those 'Perfect Conditions Only' strategies.

Fuck off, Gauze heals like maybe 5-10 brute damage tops, it's not even worth considering to be a useful method of self healing if you're bleeding, you'd probably be sitting around 20-ish brute damage minimum.Neray wrote:Tu-du-du, WRONG.

Gauze is stll better than nothing. You can not gauze, and continue to lose blood from that external wound, or you can gauze. And maybe, just maybe, not bleed to death as fast.

Re: How To Help Your Medic
The only difference between gauze and adv brute pack is amount of right-away healing. Passive healing is the same for both and that's way more important in a long term.Carmac wrote:Fuck off, Gauze heals like maybe 5-10 brute damage tops, it's not even worth considering to be a useful method of self healing if you're bleeding, you'd probably be sitting around 20-ish brute damage minimum.

This is considered a bug now and is against the rules. You can be banned for doing this.2.
But otherwise, this is great.
