Basic Chems for the basic doctors.
Introduction.
So you're a basic baldie doctor and don't want to be a wafflecone who wastes 50 energy on tricord at round start, this guide will teach the basics of chems and a recipe for waffle heals.
Also before distributing these, make sure to contact the CMO/Acting CO for permission to distribute them, lest the MPs get on your ass and arrest you because THE LAAAAAAAW.
Remember to pack your anesthetic injector/hypospray in the event of an idiot XO deciding they want you to power game and meta game the infection.
pre-cursor to an event that would lead you to using your injector.
here is a link to the old Baychem Guide that CM uses.
Medbay Etiquette.
The glorious eleven commandments, basically don't be a dick.
The Chem Dispenser.
Your best friend in the medbay, this nifty thing can make chems as long as you've got the over omnipotent energy for it, if you were Harry Cowper this'd be your shotgun.
The Chem Master.
Your 2nd best friend, it allows you to easily seperate different chemicals, make pills and with a bit of space magic, create infinite bottles, this is your buckshot.
The Nanomeds and storage areas.
Your 3rd best friend, they come with bottles and injectors for Dylovene, Inaprov, Spaceacillin, Soporific, Quick clot, dexa+, Tricord, clone fix and many more, this is the best way to save energy when making most of the basic meds in this guide, the storage areas have dexalin pills in the oxygen kits, great way to save a few bits of energy.
The grinder.
Grinds stuff, 'nuff said.
The actual guide.
It's round start, the doctors are running around doing their round start preps, but wait, GASP there's no one doing chemistry! You better don your latex gloves, health HUD, sprayer full of anesthetics in case the MPs get you and your trusty chemistry headband!
CryoMix.
Your cryomix, one of the important parts of chemistry and when used correctly, a powerful tool in saving the lives of baldies the glorious colonial marines.
Your cryomixes can range from basic Clonex and Cryox mix, to complex large beakers full of healing chems that'll raise a will-be-dead marine to full health (barring bone damage) to full health and ready to kick xeno ass.
Here are some different sorts of cryomix that I use.
Basic beaker Cryo mix.
Cryoxadone: 20
Clonexadone: 20
Ryetalyn: 10
Peridaxon: 10
Dylovene/Coffee:10
Big beaker cryo mix.
30 Cryox.
30 Clonex.
15 Ryetalyn.
15 Peridaxon.
15 Dylovene/Coffee.
Alternatively you can forego the Cryoxadone and make do with the already 30u in the beakers, replace them with Dylovene from the vendors instead, this way, you'll be saving 50 cryoxadone to turn into Clonex, then you add in some inaprov from the vendors, stuff some carbon in and boom, Peridaxon for the medics.
Waffle Heal recipes.
Standard Waffle Heal
Step 1: Get inaprov bottle and a dexalin pill from the oxygen kits in the storage.
Step 2: Grind up 20 phoron, dump phoron into your bluespace beaker.
Step 3: Dump 60u of inaprov into your blue space beaker, then put the dexalin pill in there.
Step 4: Turn the dexalin into 45u of dexalin+ for other use or for more waffle heals.
Step 5: Now make 60u of peri by dropping 20u of oxygen, 10u of water then 10u of oxy in that order.
Step 6: Dump enough sodium to turn it all into clonexadone which will turn into peri because of the bicaridine.
Step 7: Get a bottle of tramadol, dump 2 pills into it (or 3 if you're going for more pain killers.)
Next is making the pills themselves, should be fairly easy, the formula I use is
30 units of Bicaridine.
30 units of Peridaxon.
15 units of Tramadol.
5 units of Dexalin Plus.
Label as WaffleHeal (No Burn) (Allow one minute to pass before taking second dose!)
Or alternatively use 30 units of Tramadol if you're doing 4 tramadol pills.
Makes 7 pills, repeat until all dexalin plus is used up.
Waffle Anti Bleed
Step 1: Dump inaprov bottle into beaker.
Step 2: Turn it all into bicaridine using carbon.
Step 3: Dump 2 kelotane pills.
Step 4: Add 30 phosporous and 30 oxygen.
Seperate the regeants.
50 units of Bicaridine
45 units of Dermaline
10 units of Quick clot
Makes 10 pills, do this twice for 20.
Label as: Waffle Anti Bleed (1u Quick Clot!) ( 1 minute between doses or die horribly!)(Can't be defibbed if OD! Be very careful!)(Burn and brute!)
WaffleFlask
Too lazy to put the steps but here's the regeants.
25 Bica
15 Derma
19 Tramadol
1 Dexa+
Label as: 'WaffleFlask Burn Brute'

No self-promotion intended but I've already covered what the Baychem guide tries to cover. viewtopic.php?f=94&t=5689
Mine is several months behind with updates, since I took a serious break from CM.

That actually happened but it was an MP who then proceeded to try and get me arrested for it, nearly succeeded until one of the other MPs put a stop to his idiocy.Arkatos wrote:I cant wait for some bald marine to take 2 of these pills containing quick-clot and horribly die. Hilarity ensured.

At least you didn't get killed by Brett Kimple.
You will never be as bad as the baldie who picked up a tactical shotgun while a hunter was pouncing on top of a CMO for 4 seconds, with his only response being to pace around before being decap'd by said hunter. You are not Brett Kimple, and you never will be. You are not the reason why I regular MP.

Re: Basic Chems for the basic doctors.
Since people were asking for my assessment:
Like the Peridex mix; it's pretty similar to my own even if I'm not big on the exact ratios and batch composition.
Cryomix is mediocre and features unnecessary amounts of certain chems due how cryo and those chems work.
I think QuikClot meds are a terrible idea as a rule, besides being time inefficient in terms of the extraction process; marines will forever surprise you with their stupidity.
In general the pill output sizes I feel to be too low (firmly of the opinion that you should aim for at least 7 pills per 120U batch so you can fill a pill bottle per bluespace beaker input).
Overall I think it's an okay guide but the recipes could use refinement.

Re: Basic Chems for the basic doctors.
I actually raised them to 7 pills per batch now, they were low because I usually play on low pop which had 10-20 marines max so I didn't feel the need to spam dozens of pill bottles full of them, when I high-pop/mid-pop I raise them to 10 with a more concentrated mix of tramadol, also after some minor testing I use 1u quick clot so they'd have to eat six of them to actually die from the OD, labelled correctly to take only one every minute to be sure.Surrealistik wrote:Since people were asking for my assessment:

Thanks for using them, I usually tend to get arrested 50% of the time for one reason or another, Most of it is me knocking Armin out whenever he tries to steal my bluespess beaker.Miranda wrote:Well i used your waffles!
