How to Be a Queen [Guide for Noobs and Vets ]
Helpful Hive Tips
1.) At the Beginning of your Round as Queen, establish your Authority. Get your Drone(s) to start building the Hive's fortifications. If some one demands something from you, remind them you are their Queen and/or Leader. Don't be pushed around, this is easy to do late game
2.) Always assign Roles to every Caste. Drones/Hivelords should be building something (Good Tips: A Escape route to another Hive, a Very heavily walled Host room, and nest) Carriers should be Helping in a battle (if present) they should be the weed planters not the Drones. (Unless of course you only have Drones) Sententials should be Guarding the Hive, only Spitters and above should be in battle (Unless it is a Full Scale) Runners/Warriors should always be Hunting or Scouting. And Ravagers... I dislike these the most because they are only useful for Large Scale Battles (See: Sulaco or FoB invading) If a Warrior is a dickhead or just a ass and Evolves to a Ravager without Permission. See 3
3.) Punishments, these are hard to give as they give your side some disadvantages, but are needed (In some cases). If a Warrior is a dickhead or a Stubborn ass and Evolves into a Ravager, You are to resisct him to the Hive to defend Host, and defend Hive. (Trust me this is horribly boring for a Ravager) Once a Hard battle is being Fought ( Engineering FoB with Banter in it) You should let him go if you start losing Xenos in the Battle. Other Punishments should be dished out as you, if you rarely do or if you going be like a Chemist dishing out space drugs like there is no Tomorrow (<- Don't do this!)
4.) Queen Tips, How to be a Queen. Listen to your Xeno Kids, but don't Bow down to their Every Whim. If your Xenos are running around like dickheads refer to rule 2. Always lay Eggs, if you don't crap Eggs every Minute you get a Free moment, your Xenos are going to run out of Weapons. FAST. Then they will Beg to Kill your Host Meatsacks. (<- Don't allow this, EVER ) Jelly: Many ways to go about this. You could just lay Jelly when you have more than 30 Eggs in advance, or Demend your Kids give you Plasma so you never use your OWN. (<-- My Fav )
5.) Killing: The most touchy thing about a Queen. Never. Never. Allow this. Never on the Station atleast. Maybe on the Sulaco if you are outnumbered. Only when on the Station you should allow Killing is Specific targets, (E.g. People with Laser Guns, or Flamethrowers, or Hardsuit/Bio Helmets. On the Sulaco... This is ruff, if you are horribly outnumbered ( I mean a 1 to 5 outnumbered) is the only time you should allow this. If you have ~3 Carriers or so, infecting is easier if you have compete Warriors.(That are not Blood Thirsty.) Infecting is easy if you lay Eggs. And Wait before Leaving, or getting your Runners to get a locker full before leaving from your Old Hive. Briefing is really difficult as it is almost always the FoB. The Best thing you can do is pray they don't have Riot Shields and tell your Runner/Warriors to Pounce.
Other Tips: Your Kids should Always have at least one hugger. Even Drones.
Drones should NEVER, EVER be in Combat. Near Combat making a Nesting Zone? That is Fine. But never in the Line of Fire.
Spitters and above. These are your Version of C-4. They can breach the same or even faster than you. (Much Faster than your Drone's petty Acid. )
Ravagers. Even as a Top Tier Class, they stink really. Unless you are in a firefight. They are bulky and clumsy. They cant infect very well. So Basically you just went from having a Stealth Super Infector to a Bulky Death machine.
Carriers are you Support Class, always with someone else. They should be your Weed Planters in a battle as stated above. They are useless defending/attacking Infected Host and Transporting host since they don't have a Vent crawl. And if you don't plant eggs. They are Screwed among o.
Your Hivelord should always be by your Side, if you have 2, go tell one of them to fortify the Station/Sulaco. They are your Well of Plasma. And Damn good Builders as it takes them a Very, very, very long time to run out of Plasma. They have even More Plasma than you and Regan it faster( I believe).
Senentials up should be your or your Hive's Bodyguard. They Excel at Bringing down any Kind of Host. Infected or no. They can hunt but do this rarely.
Runners. They are weak when it comes to Heath Points. And they should ( And Remind them of this ) always be attacking in packs of 3 or more. With 5 Huggers in that group. Warriors can apply this tactic in Pairs as they are Stronger. (But more valuable at the same time)
Thanks for reading if you made it this far. I know it is a lot, but it is all or mostly true from my Expernices as a Queen . I have 3 Fails, 2 Minor Vics and 1 Major Vic on my Record ( I think, if Admins can check this inform me)
This is my Guide! Thanks for the support and I add this to make First time Queens a little better!

i find most of this good but carriers should not be any form of primary weed planter, their plasma regen is terrible and they only have a store of about 250, while the hive itself needn't necessarily overtake the ship your weeds SHOULD stretch pretty far and wide and cover anywhere you may feel you need/want to go or anywhere you may run into marines, dont be afraid to send a FEW drones out to build cover or quick nests or to plant weeds, especially in the early game.

I would also like to add the following:
A) Regularly keep in contact with the rest of the xenos. I know it sounds obvious, but it needs repeating as you are the effective commander of the aliens. I have had several rounds with the queen barely speaking and not always coordinating the offense/defense. The fact that marine squads can be scattered can be an opportune moment for the queen to order several of her brood to go and stage ambushes or give scouting reports on where the humans are.
B) Tell your aliens to not get captured. The last two times I have been queen I had at least one alien beg me to let them pretend that they were friendly to the humans (yes, this can work, but early on it can lead to that alien getting captured and losing an alien in the early part of the game is a serious setback).

Yes I know this, but some new players sometimes feel a little imitated by the Big and Purple text of the Queen's Alien Chat. They feel it should be used Sparely as if they would some how Run out.Gigamonsta wrote: A) Regularly keep in contact with the rest of the xenos. Def. I just wanted to throw it in their for the reasons you've mentioned robber. It is hard being a newbie and queen (ugh...found that out the hard way...)Butterrobber202 wrote: Yes I know this, but some new players sometimes fell a little imitated by the Big and Purple text of the Queen's Alien Chat. Overall, I really liked the guide and am glad that someone finally made one.

Yeah, by Weed planters, I'm talking about minor scale battles. Just hunter trips really, they can slap down some weeds so the hunters have some kind of a checkpoint. If we are invading a engineering FoB, I will probably go send some drones or a hive lord to go build a small fort/hive to keep host and let aliens regan plasma.MycroftMacarthur wrote: i find most of this good but carriers should not be any form of primary weed planter, their plasma regen is terrible and they only have a store of about 250, while the hive itself needn't necessarily overtake the ship your weeds SHOULD stretch pretty far and wide and cover anywhere you may feel you need/want to go or anywhere you may run into marines, dont be afraid to send a FEW drones out to build cover or quick nests or to plant weeds, especially in the early game.

I'd argue otherwise. Drones, Hivelords, Queen and Carrier are the only 4 that can plant weeds.Mycroft Macarthur wrote: i find most of this good but carriers should not be any form of primary weed planter, their plasma regen is terrible and they only have a store of about 250, while the hive itself needn't necessarily overtake the ship your weeds SHOULD stretch pretty far and wide and cover anywhere you may feel you need/want to go or anywhere you may run into marines, dont be afraid to send a FEW drones out to build cover or quick nests or to plant weeds, especially in the early game.
Drones are decent planters but they generally have something better they can do and in reality should not stray far from the hive. They should be focusing on crafting resin defenses and expanding the hive or working with hivelords to keep everything running and infected hosts contained.
Hivelords have the best regen, admittedly, but are fairly slow. They how ever, have much better things they can do such as making fortifications or transnfering plasma to the queen to make Corridors filled with eggs (Queen + Hive lord Regen is about 1 egg per second, queen just needs to drag the hivelord and hivelord needs to constantly hit hte plasma transfer verb and fill her up.)
Queen should be focusing on eggs and jelly. Mostly eggs. A queen planting weeds is a queen who is not prioritizing very well.
Carriers. Carriers have 2 jobs. Carry around face huggers. And plant weeds. If you can't find a host, and have all 6 hugger slots full (and carrying 2 more huggers in your hand like a good little xeno), you are generating plasma that you can spend. You have NO other use for it. So if you have 100~ plasma, and you see even one bare tile without weeds, you better fucking run over to it and shit out a cornucopia of squid creating weeds. Under doors, in the tunnels, near the arrivals shuttle. Any where your hive might need to go or the marines are suspected to be hiding, you surround that place with weeds. As long as you are on weeds, your plasma regenerates at a fair rate, so you have no excuse not to create the healing the weeds that actual warrior and sentinel castes rely on to do their own jobs.
