Guide to being a survivor

Post by Sargeantmuffinman » 29 May 2015, 11:56

OUT OF DATE AS OF 30 OF JULY 2015

The introduction

A survivor is someone who basically survived any incident that occurred threatening your life.
Your main role is to not die and wait for rescue and give as much info as you can (this is overpowered and shit until the bios and shit have been implemented)

What you can know (at the moment) about the aliens.

You know a certain amount of information on the aliens such as:
  • A. They can vent crawl,
  • B. Facehuggers make chestbusters,
  • C. The chestbusters,
  • D. They have a queen that lays eggs (AKA their leader and shit),
  • E. How to remove the chestbuster,
  • F. What you see,
  • G. How fucked the marines are against them.

What will be implemented by the devs in future.
  • What you actually know,
  • Your job,
  • Your bio,
  • The things the devs will implement to prevent meta and balance survivors.
How to survive.

This isn't accurate but it is my guide to surviving.

First off you are naked and shit has hit the fan. You have no idea where you are but if you do get some clothes and run to three locations that have weapons.
  1. 1. Go to departures where you will find a pistol,a few magazines and weedkiller.
  • 2. Go to the armoury in security to find a pistol, smg and gear but you will need to hack in order to get all those goods.
  • 3. Go to engineering and you can get some tools.
If you have clothes, a ranged or any kind of weapon now is the time to HIDE.
This may seem like a cowardly idea (and it is but effective) this might grantee your survival.

Places to hide.
  • 1. The locker (most basic one I can think of)
  • 2. Disposals (You will need to turn disposals off before climbing in since you will be dumped into where all the trash is and one of them could be in an xeno hive
  • 3. A coffin (extreme no,stupid yes, possibility of an xeno finding you 45%)
  • 4. A barricaded room with the vent sealed and doors sealed(chance of them finding you 60%, chance of them getting to you 50%)
  • 5. ANYWHERE THAT IS NOT IN THE OPEN
THE MARINES ARE HERE.

RUSH TO WHERE THE MARINES LANDED AND TELL THEM WHAT THEY ARE UP AGAINST QUICKLY(just tell them they are fighting xenos)

You are not safe yet till you manage to get to the Sulaco in one less than one piece.
Once you have managed to get to the marines tell them what they are fighting and say "I need to speak to your commanding officer about this" or something similar.
Get onto the Sulaco and find an MP,Logistics officer or the commander and tell them you are a survivor from the Nostromo and you have info (basically go to logistics and say you have info on what the marines against and tell the officer or the blah blah blah about a made up story about how the xenos got there and shit and all the things you know)

Managed to get as far as here?

Well done you survived hell and you can just sit there and wait till the round ends or until the Sulaco gets raided and you finally get facehugged and burst then go insane

How a noob would survive.

Pure and utter idiotic luck.

How badasses survive.

End the infestation by yourself ALONE.

Good guide but you could include joining up with the marines after reaching the Sulaco since you've proven yourself to be a capable fighter. After all, they could use all the help they could get.

I love this guide. <3 Though I know I've found hiding in the Locker Room tends to be one of the better places. Now all the aliens will hide there for you to come. But I definitely had a chuckle.

1) Primary tool storage
2) Hack into captain's quarters using your new tools
3) Enjoy access without hacking everywhere
4) Open all the lockers without wasting ammo
Lockie 'Furry' Hughes, your local source of annoyance, medicine and Will. E. Coyote engineering. Mostly medicine. Maybe annoyance.

You can also get clothes and stuff south of the storage, which is great for not running around looking like an idiot, there's also a radio headset and backpacks in the locked lockers.

Yes, better idea of hiding being:
1. Grab paper bin
2. Get in locker
3. Empty bin onto yourself
4. Close locker
