To update your markings, you only need to have your ID on for few seconds. Than you can put it back in your PDA and turn on the flashlight, extending your LOS by 2 tiles in dark.

Personally, I keep the O2 tank in my pocket, and toss my rifle in my suit storage. Still keep a satchel with 2 clips, two extra flares and the station bounced radio. If the SL permits, or I am the SL, I also grab a first aid kit.

Don't really see the logic in ditching the satchel/backpack, there a reason for that choice?

One time, I got into an epic 1v1 against a drone with just my knife. The thing got cocky until it realized i was a master shitcurity and good with a shiv. I stabbed it to death and dragged the dead corpse infront of it's friends. I later died from friendly fire in the head cause someone felt like being stupid.
