With the upcoming Whitelist for Commander, what should be the punishment for those who disobey orders?

You're right. Any attempts to intervene with a military police officer conducting his job should result in a ban, unless there is a very good reason for it. For command staff, discipline is hard to enforce, knowing that if you attempt to detain anybody well-known in the community, it will result in backlash against you.

On top of marines getting bans for interfering, military police should also be allowed further freedom to operate on the ground. As it stands, they're a small part of the Sulaco crew that is required to stay away from the colony at all times, unless conducting an arrest. I'd prefer that this be expanded to them occupying areas like the FOB and the different LZs, securing routes up and down from the colony, while also giving them a good base of operations to conduct arrests. Military police could be expanded to be a sort of squad of their own, making their presence much more significant to marines, and therefore, making marines more likely to obey marine law because arrest is a very real concern, rather than an idle threat by command.

How about a World of Warships approach to this problem?

If someone is going AWOL or rambo the CDR/BOs can issue a warning. Said warning will tell the snowflake to return to his squad at once or face consequences.

If the warning is ignored the CDR/BOs can then issue a penalty.

The Penalty is as followed.

First, the Exosuit on the marine will turn a bright pink to identity him as a special little snowflake who thinks he/she is better then orders.

Next, an ID tag will be added to allow SLs to know who's a special snowflake in chat, thus, allowing them to put a tighter hold around the.

Then, the marine will be barred for 1 round from playing any command and specialty jobs (Squad spec, Squad engineer, etc) and can only work grunt jobs (Marine, Researcher, etc).

This penalty will last for the rest of the round and the round after that. If the person leaves during a penalty round(s) then the penalty will remain in till served when the person returns.

However, If said snowflake suddenly realizes what he is doing is dumb and doesn't want to be pink anymore and wants the penalty removed, they can rejoin their squad, follow orders, become the SL's bitch and be a good soldier, then SL can then (at his/hers own discretion) request that command remove the penalty. (Command can this directly as well.)

Thus, this makes incentives for snowflakes to follow orders on penalty rounds instead of running at mach 5 towards the queen.

I do like the idea, but I feel like this could end up with a lot more player reports and a lot more DRAYMA, because people really don't like to be jobbanned and especially dislike it if it's another player doing it.

Honestly, it would be nice if MPs were given more respect for this to work.

As is, a lot of people mistreat MPs. I was an MP recently, and in that round, I had a marine table me for no reason, and later in the RO line would constantly poke fun at me, saying how I'm not a real marine... Even though I outranked a fair few of them.

It is probably why a lot of marines seem so willing to beat the shit out of them, because no one really gives a shit about em. MPs spend most of the round waddling around the Sully doing nothing of value. Even researchers have more value compared to MPs, because at least they are able to make drugs and operate the cloners. MPs are only really good during the early moments of the round. After that, they just waddle around with little motivation.

Sometimes I wish MPs could do more...

People bother MPs because the MPs ruin fun.
