In the RP rules, it is stated that when marines die, they lose about 5 minutes of memory, meaning they forget what happened and probably are unaware if they died for not.

Also, I got CMD from this article, which I think would fit well with CM, even after cloning is no longer easily available.

You're advocating the death of a person. And suggesting that a new, artificial, person is the same person....to or about the person who is going to die.

In fairness, some characters might be creepy or horribly unaware as far as telling someone they died went. Winter does have a slightly ghoulish side and tends to forget not everyone is used to the cloning conga.

That said, the faster cloning thing is a bit awkward. And people do say 'oh god kill me' when in pain.

I've been told by staff previously, whenever I asked the same question, that we do not have CMD. We remember everything up until death, but nothing at all after it until we wake up from cloning.

For those that don't understand. If you were cloned in real life, and you met them clone, you obviously would not share their individual memories and experiences as they're a completely separate entity. Cloning is not fast, it never was, it takes a total of 12 minutes, removes your BO , medic, engineer, spec, and especially your SL, the person who is most needed for the OP to be efficient, all for 20 minutes (if we were to include restocking on gear, planning out, getting on the shuttle or pod, etc.). If someone is dying, give them dexalin and inap quickly, put them in a bodybag or stasis bag, and bring them to the ship so they can be worked on for 7 minutes.

Personally I would be pretty okay with being cloned, none of this "not me" crap. If it has my memories and my personality, it's a me. It's the "software" that is the person, not the vessel.

It may have your memories and personality, but it doesn't have your soul. In fact, if SS13 cloning was more realistic, cloning would take a random ghost to take over your body, not just magically reincarnate you as yourself as if you never died. Then again, I suppose a lot of things about cloning are a tad iffy in SS13 (such as the fact that cloning should allow you to not just make one clone of a person, but dozens of similarly thinking clones).

Cloning is always a very touchy subject. Replacing someone with a mere copy of them and telling them in their face they are aren't real is kinda hurtful. It's like telling Johnny 5 that he isn't alive, no matter how much he believes himself to be. Would you tell your cloned friend that he isn't really your real friend, but just a soulless copy designed to fill his empty shoes?

And lets not get started on how to handle clones of already living people that aren't aware of who they really are.

I guess it does vary from person to person, but if you asked me, it would be delving deep into the uncanny valley, and even if I don't suffer dreadful mental trauma from the discovery that my existence is a lie and that I am only a mimic of what was once alive, I'd still feel a tad uncomfortable about the whole situation.

I'd rather like to live a lie in peace and not think about it too much. Sometimes ignorance is bliss in cases like this.

Honestly after a certain amount of contact with the aliens I refer to them by name. It takes so much time to type That huge rhino ass thing. But I'm totally with you, I remember one time I saw a marine say. WATCH OUT THEY'VE GOT A BOILER during first contact.

Hell I've had times as medic where people would get hugged and I'd tell them to stop being a baby, the hoops they jumped through to get medevaced were classic.

Eh, during roleplay scenarios or out of combat I'll call the aliens by descriptions (Screaming Bitch,ect) but when you're in combat, you don't have time.

Let us be honest, the aliens don't really care for RP, nor will they let you type out your god-tier emote.

commanders telling marines that we are losing and some even count KIAs......like what military leader would do that in times of war? destroy the morale just like that lol

This is something I do, albeit, in another manner. It can be very advantageous for the commander to exaggerate the number of Xenomorphs killed, while greatly under-reporting the number of marine casualties. The result is the opposite, in that the marines now believe they are winning. Telling them they are outright losing is a bad idea, however. The only indication they should have they are losing is when the great victories reported over the command announcements come closer to the FOB.
