Re: Queen Gibbing
Gibbing is my favorite queen ability, it's so badass to gib a living marine or especially predator.
I was once gibbing dead marines casually. Then lone marine with smg comes near me and stares at me.
"You're next" i psychic whisper to him as i gut the last remaining corpse. Poor marines droped his gun and ran so fast and so far that i never ever seen him again. Kudos to him for good rp.
Other than that uses for gibbing are as follows:
1. Getting rid of light created by corpses.
2. Cleaning up hive from corpses. (And decorating it in gore!)
3. Best anti-predator ability.
4. Makes humans harder to be cloned. Their head often flies god knows where and it's hard to find it in mess of gore. Thus dead marines are more likely to join xenos.
5. Demoralizing enemy. And looking like absolute badass monster.
6. And almost forgot, destroying equipment on dead marines. Dunno about you but i will pester any queen until i'm dead or until she gibs host with SADAR on him.
In conclusion: Everyone who hates gibbing are just demoralized by it too much and are upset that there is lesser chance they will be cloned.

Re: Queen Gibbing
Like, I understand that its a justified ability but it gets really annoying when I see xeno saying they use it specifically to remove people from the round or force into xeno and then don't understand why people don't like that. Alot of people would be much happier if you just dragged their corpses to some corner of the hive where it's unlikely they'll be found simply due to the fact that they *have* a body, even if its a 0.1% chance they'll be cloned, they'll be a lot less salty because of it. So just think about that next time you find yourself gibbing a large pile of standards.

Marines are always salty, one way or the other, i'll just keep gibbing. Besides, marines just need to start searching for heads when they see bloody mess and everyone will be happy. Mostly i gib because i simply like doing so, i even gib pre-spawned dead colonists and bursted animals.Carmac wrote:Like, I understand that its a justified ability but it gets really annoying when I see xeno saying they use it specifically to remove people from the round or force into xeno and then don't understand why people don't like that. Wow not everyone admits to rampant meta gaming to remove players from the round. Points for honesty.

Re: Queen Gibbing
Gibbing is a strange paradox in my opinion. It's a game mechanic with no secondary purpose, so people should be allowed to use it. Every time a queen goes on a gibbing-spree, there's a flood of ahelps about "meta-gaming cloning". I would like to see SOMETHING change, whether it be gibbing removed and disallowed touching human corpses, or the reverse of that where cloning is truly treated like a privilege, and allow xenos to do anything in their power to remove that privilege.
I'm stressing way too hard about what to put here, so I'm just gonna leave it blank.... or....

The problem is that most marines think they deserve plot armor to help them escape nests, escape hives, and get cloned.Biolock wrote:Gibbing is a strange paradox in my opinion. Xenos don't want light sources on the battlefield and if they're competent will eliminate all or almost all ability for marines to escape.
I don't think gibbing is necessary, but it also makes very little to no difference in whom is cloned. If I drag your corpse behind the front line, your body won't be recovered anyway so gibbing does nothing.

4.this will probably make them NOT play xeno because they'll be so salty they won't want to play.
5.it'd help if you did it in front of the enemy....
6.shitty move and also meta.

If something is a shitty move then it's just shitty, it's low, that's about it. But here's the thing, that's not meta. If that an important asset to the Marines, then it has to be taken out and ensured the Marines don't take it and use it again. If someone has made a machine that can convert matter into energy, and you killed them, then you would, of course, want to destroy or at least hide that research, and destroy that machine. There's no outside knowledge involved, xenos are aware of the fact humans rely on tools to kill them, and the most destructive tool can be handled but what seems to be each and every one of them can still be picked up and used after the original wielder has been killed.

Think about it that way... if a dead marine has a boomstick in his armor slot and the xenos saw him blowing up a ravager earlier. Of course they want to delete his equipment. Same goes with smartguns and grenade launchers.Joe4444 wrote:A response would be appreciated, not just a picture of a facepalming statue.

Re: Queen Gibbing
Gibbing is still one of those things I loved to do as a queen. Especially during a cave assault where you go out, screech, catch one dude and bring him to your personally made gib chamber.
Since marines can't push you, if you make a one tile room, you can stand in the middle of the doorway with the marine in the room and gib his ass. He will slash away with his knife in vain.

Re: Queen Gibbing
There are reasons it's in the game, in my opinion.
You can use it to mutilate corpses in front of imprisoned marines to instill terror and continue roleplay even in their last moments. It's cooler than just digesting the bodies that are everywhere, too. Body parts in a nesting ground can be kind of atmospheric.
With a hole in their chest, they're seriously dead. Cloning them would take a long time and make doctors multitask even more...chances are they're staying dead. Just my two cents.

Haha, noobs are seriously crying if their corpse gets gibbed? Let them cry. It's perfectly reasonable both for in-game reasons (light source, weapons, morale), and lore reasons (queen is strong as fuck and could easily wrench marines apart if wanted - also rips a dude in half in the movie).
There is no reason to even consider changing the gibbing.

There is no reason to even consider changing the gibbing.
For one, light can actually still stay despite gibbing's and even then its easier to drag them away, put them into a corner and surround it with resin doors and watch your body pile to re-count how many you killed, you only have a point with spec weapons (which if you got a spec with mag harness and far enough for him to die, you don't even need to gib him, and marines can't use a sniper rifle and etc, which you also can melt since you can't put a mag harness on those)
Morale is rarely a thing because 99% of time nobody actually sees you do the gibbing, and doing it on the open field requires some decent crushers.
Also what lore reasons? guy was cut in half horizontally and he was a android, that's not gibbing, she did it because she could, since he was alive after her giant tail stab and suddenly spitted white blood, if i was the queen i was also rip him apart like that to make sure he is dead if he can survive a tail stab (he was even still alive... after THAT).
Gibbing is just basically a way to dispose of SADARS and gib people after a crusher tackles them, which is fairly damn cheesey (yes, that actually happens, we had crushers tackle someone and then the queen would gib them while they protected her easy peasy, with guard pheromones and her toughness, we lost all our specs within a hour)

Gibbing is cool. Period. Also, it helps remove those pesky hosts that have bursted already and can't be placed anywhere else.

I think it was added so the aliens could stop marines from getting cloned...but that has been taken out of the game.
