When the xenos are boarding and you're low on ammo; generate as many pulse rifles as possible and activate the attachments. Because Apop has forgot to realize PRs have UGLs preloaded and equipped, you might as well give him the stroke of his lifetime.

Bonus points if you FFd your team to ribbons
You will never be as bad as the baldie who picked up a tactical shotgun while a hunter was pouncing on top of a CMO for 4 seconds, with his only response being to pace around before being decap'd by said hunter. You are not Brett Kimple, and you never will be. You are not the reason why I regular MP.

Sorry, just trying to help.

But now I will provide a rather useless but still amazing marine magic trick

Step 1. Set up a macro for the following action: ".click Marine-Combat-Boots" (I use V for mine)

Step 2. Put a combat bayonet in your boots

Step 3. Strap yourself into a roller bed

Step 4. Press your macro button for clicking on your boots, this will cause your knife to appear on top of you

Step 5. Unstrap yourself from the bed, go wherever you want

Step 6. Whenever you want your combat bayonet to appear in your hands, press your macro button again. Through rooms and z-levels, across time and space, and even if somebody else picked up the bayonet... the bayonet will magically appear in your hand, ready for surprise combat!

As a marine, Teamwork is the key to victory. Don't be afraid to bodyblock that bad-ass xeno to prevent their escape. You may be injured or die in the process. But hot damn you'll be the bad-ass that killed that xeno that would have otherwise destroyed your pals.

FIX YER' FUKKIN BAYONETS. Hand-to-hand combat has 100% armor pen. Bayonets take your hand to hand from love taps to xeno-slaying-berserker stabs. Ain't no crusher armor gun'stop dat knife. I've out DPS'd Mature Ravagers in hand to hand combat because they're so big they're easy to click in a close fight.
Speaking of bayonets, mag harness + bayonet means you can reliably break doors and nests should you be captured and given half a second to work with. If you have a shotgun get the wooden stock along with the mag harness+bayonet for what is on par as an un-drop-able machete-worth of hand to hand combat.

Breaking the nest that you are planted in will significantly increase your odds of: 1) escape or; 2) doing some damage to your captors before they can get you back into a new nest.

SMARTGUNS DONT FRIENDLY FIRE; That means you AIM FOR THE HEAD, harm intent, BURST FIRE, and for the love of God HAVE OTHERS BETWEEN YOU AND THE XENOS. MAXIMIZE YER' FIREPOWAHH! *edit* Forgot to mention; Charger + burst fire for 5-round burst of tier-2-instantkilling firepower at close range. Puts down Mature crusher and elite ravas damn quick too.

Doesn't aiming for the head do nothing against xenos?

Xenos don't take limb damage, and it isn't confirmed that aiming for the head does indeed do more damage.

Also keep in mind that you should NEVER be on harm intent EVER. If you want to point blank something, just shoot behind it, you can and WILL achieve the same effect without having to worry about your action not triggering due to the targeted sprite moving midclick. Going on an intent other than help is just going to make moving around difficult as you block the way for everyone.
Sometimes, bravery comes from the most unlikely sources.

Charger and burstfire on a smartgun will just fuck the weapon

It's supposed to be a DPS gun, not a spike damage weapon. Slaping those two attachs will make it Inacurate as fuck, plus will reduce the RoF

1º thing: you have 300 rounds if you include the ammo inside the smartgun

2º thing: That's why you have a DAMN RO, he can send one crate ordered from the supply that give you 2 or three powerpacks, and, you can restock them in your vendor.

Yes, if you don't have a competent cargo, you're kinda fucked

You can do it even without using roller bed. Just lay down, click your boots, get up, go anywhere you want, click em again.

Shooting them in the head sure does a bit more damage. I remember this being in a changelog.

Here's a tip:

Grab a metal flask from the cafeteria vendors,
Ask a doctor to fill it with 30u's of Tricord, 20u's of Oxycodene and 10u's of Peridexon,
Label it Jesus Juice, you can now solve pretty much all damage on your own if you brought gauze and a splint.
Also you can't OD on any of it, OD limit for Tricord is 30u's, 20u's for Oxycodene, 10u's for Peridexon, as long as you don't let a medic inject you with anything, you'll be fine.
Garth Pawolski, or is it Powalski?

Back in action.

The harm intent isn't for point blanking, it's for stabbing/whacking/not shifting due to being on help intent in a fight.

Aiming for the head, is worthwhile with a smart-gun. All will say on the subject.
If you're on help intent during a fight, you deserve the FF that you are going to get/give. :P
Help intent is the single worst thing you can do if you're in a fight. I've witnessed single marines FFing 5+ people in the course of a few seconds because of position shifting.

Xenos tank DPS really well. They don't tank spiked damage anywhere near as well. If you're worried about being inaccurate with it, you're doing it wrong. The smart-gun has a built in quickfire assembly, the ROF is fine.

You wanna just have that satisfaction of exploding that fresh xeno kill of yours or perhaps just explode its corpse just cause? Well heres a neato trick, you can make xenos explode by simply punching it till explodes. No acid damage, though quite fun hacking at a dead corpse to find the acid splatter a poor marine nearby or your sergeant.
Steps;
Step 1:Punch dead xeno until it explodes
Step 2: Xeno finally explodes and you look like a badass.
Step 3: Profit
"Young Carrier (920) (follow) hisses, "Shut up both of you or we aren't going to invade disneyland."

Long time ago, I, Ka'Torag-na Halkrath, Skilled Master Hunter Of Prey, Unleashed an unspeakable evil upon Xenos and Humans! But a foolish Xeno Hunter wielder of robustness stepped forth and opposed me. Before the final blow was struck, I tore a gate of Salt of Solitude and flung em into the world of CM, and took out their Facehugger Capabilities! Now, this Xeno Fool seeks to return the favour, and undo my evil reign and of many other predator predecessors!

You can't catch anything while seated

When you using a throwing knife, always be sure to melee with it before the throwing it, your target will be much too slow to dodge

Always remember this: slugs are for accuracy, buckshot is for stopping power. If you're going to use buckshot, get a gyro and BC, if you're going to use slugs get a stock and forward grip.

Grenades are very easy to avoid, never use them when you're in open spaces if that'll be your trump card.

You can load Grenade Launchers (the M96L) with research grenades, so rather than 5 seconds, you get an explosive on impact round.

If you try to disarm someone that's holding a gun, it'll discharge during the struggle and end up hitting someone or something.

Spec visors have some night vision properties but only for other players/mobs.

Cook grenades for the best effect and to negate that.

0s fuse grenades explode in the gun. 1s fuse is required for impact detonation. Proximity detonators are best for that, making the grenade remain as a mine instead of being wasted if missed.

Mines are often more useful if they're in obvious chokepoints or general exits and entrances. When it comes down to it, aliens can be patient to rightclick out a safe path in a minefield but when the fighting starts, they're much more likely step on a mine due to the frantic dodging and moving about.

It is also fun to hide one mine poorly then dump a bunch of stuff everywhere to create the illusion of a minefield.

You can also place glass shards in entryways so you hear people coming in.
Troublesome, as usual.
