-1....nah breh. Its completely fine, honestly....what happens if a squaddie or medic tried patching you up and that medic kicked the bucket due to getting pounced or something causing them to go down? Tru medic will have purpose but really? There are rounds where there is literally just 1 or 2 medic or low medical staff or no medical staff.

Just gonna say, I have, since becoming a mentor, seen only TWO, TWO players go to medbay to grab some advanced kits and pulls. I see plenty of marines, including myself, put one adv. truama kit and one adv. burn kit in their armor but that's usually the full extent of it. -1

I mean, I never have actually went out and went to medical for anything as marines. Usually looting the dead or at nexus there so happen to be medical kits laying there or again dead corpses surrounding it. I usually trade my bandages for advanced stuff, rarely actually carry entire kit, realistically applying bandages or splinting a standard person would have the knowledge of or applying ointment on a burn.

Learning how to splint broken bones is very VERY basic first aid, I don't believe that they should be disallowed. The advanced trauma kits and burn kits though are a bit of a grey area, because stuff like biologue and regenerative membrane would be much harder to apply imo, but who knows if the marines would get training on that? Just my two cents.

Marines know how to do first aid, they have limited access to medical equipment unless someone hacks a vendor, while medics can already use this from the start and have better access to medical tools.

this is an unneeded nerf and it doesn't add to the immersion.

I know how to do first aid on that level. I'm a civilian.
Plz.

If someone doesn't know how to use splints, read labels on autoinjectors or wrap a wound, he did not fail to receive training.
He failed to educate himself ffs.

What derpi said. Sticking to -1
CM was obviously inspired by Starcraft: Ghost opening. At least when marines takes too long to deploy.

So what a medic knows can be learnt on a weekend course or by yourself. And you say it's not immersion breaking.

Szunti has a point. If medics are just standards who's ID card has access to the Nanomeds, what is the true point of medical? If a medic dies or is fucked up, you should try your very best to recover them, they should be VITAL to your squad cohesion and survivability. You shouldn't see one die and just go "oh well."

I think you forget the the medics ENTIRE job is to heal marines.they have the best equipment(lifesaver bags, medical HUDs,stretchers, access to medical comms) for the job and they'll have more room for medical things.a normal grunt could become a ghetto medic but to go the full mile WHILST carrying ammo, knives, guns etc.medics have more room for this stuff, they're seen a lot clearer than a grunt with medical supplies AND they also have access to medical comms so they can get docs ready when they bring patients up.

Yes, that is their job, so why is everyone else doing their job instead? I have had marines loot my lifesaver belt of me on several occasions and just put it on, becoming the new "medic". I have had times where I was going to refill my equipment in my prep room and other marines from my squad just come in and start taking shit, AMKs, BMKs, individual Trauma kits, etc. You name it, they took it.

Tbh, I'd rather have a skill system involved where you'd gain some decency in medical if you practiced it for the 3 hours of the round, placing you at a medic's level.
Skill would lower or increase your treatment speed, making medics MUCH MORE RELIABLE as they'd have instant application of the medicine like they normally do, but non-skilled staff would have the generic stand-still bar that annoys the hell out of them.

THAT would have my approval, because it'd show the uncertainty and lack of experience of the character more indepth and actually provide with a MUCH MORE REASONABLE way to nerf combat medicirine thing... While not outright banning medical supplies in emergencies.

This. I think Medics should be able to apply syringes and splints faster, do CPR better, have a more generous Defib timer and damage threshold, and extract more healing out of trauma kits, gauze and the like (the same would obviously be true of the CMO/Doctors).

What's wrong with that? if you're dead or can't do your job they should be able to grab your supplies and use them, it would make sense for marines to use every available resource they can find.

also how are they stealing stuff from you if your alive and in your prep room? they don't have access, if they're hacking that's another thing entirely.

^ Following that logic, just stop hacking on all of prep's doors and you'll be fine. Either way marines will have to weld and it's much more of a bitch to weld a wall rather than hack a door. (An engi breaking a wall can go to perma if the CO's pissy)

I never actually feel like someone's doing my job as a medic. In fact, it always feels like I'm the only one at times. Marines generally do not have the supplies to last without you. People with them usually end up screaming for a medic because of things they can't treat, internal bleeding and lung damage for example. What are marines supposed to do when their dedicated healer dies? They should take you back for cloning, yes, but they'll still be stuck wounded. The alternative to not looting your things is to fight hindered and likely die. Nothing hurts more than watching someone slowly die when there's medical supplies right there to save them.

As for your squadmates waltzing in to take your stuff. Why didn't you stop them? There's a lot of things I find off about it. How did they get in the first place? I'm assuming they followed you in then took what was lying around, seeing that they don't have access nor would they hack in. If they waited for you to use the vendor then yoink it, how come you didn't do anything about them before that?
Troublesome, as usual.

Another medic had already come in and left a ton of medical supplies on the floor, I was moving the SSD medic when they started looting the place.
