I also chose the 'Destroy' ending, killing the Geth, making saving them over the Quarians utterly useless.Enceri wrote:it's a sin you've committed

Re: Mass Effect Appreciation Thread
I personally only played the second Mass Effect game, but overall liked it and enjoyed it. Hopefully, i'll be able to get my hands on Andromeda.

I'm late, but I feel this is relevant to what was the "face" situation before the patch:

Re: Mass Effect Appreciation Thread
There is a game I truly fell in love with, Enceri.Enceri wrote:...want to see others opinions....
Mass Effect's combat game-play didn't felt like something "unique" at all. And I felt it was "too easy" for me.
But I enjoyed it specially because of the detailed scenario and story, with a lot of character interactions and interactive situations.
I felt very immersed in that universe most of the time - and also able to role-play "alternative Comander Shepards" with very different personalities and traits.
(This is something I enjoy a lot actually. Hence the reason even here, in Colonial Marines, I have many different characters.)
The only thing I didn't enjoyed at all, was the obligation to have a Shepard 100% interested in destroying the reapers.
- I tried hard to steer Shepard to a truly "dark side" since Mass Effect 1, and ally himself to the reapers, but I figured it was impossible.
You can't stray at all from the script in that game.
But this is expected.
When you have a lot of character personality definitions - with clear goals - side by side with too much of a "black and white morality" in the story - where "the real enemy is completely monstrous" - it's very hard to go not go with the river when designing the actual game script.
Only really bad thing I found in that game? The ending felt very pathetic.
Not because it's a downer ending or something, but because it felt too simple for such an advanced enemy.
"Oh, here... There is a on/off switch for them... Just pick a flavor for your sacrificial demise, and they are gone..."
(Aaaaaaaargh...)
Another reason I loved that game?
Were the never ending jokes and parodies around it.
One of my friends made a comic parodying Mass Effect , titled "Shep is Love, Shep is Life", were Shepard got "completely obsessed on getting laid with every sentient species possible", so it had a lot of scenes of the crew getting horrified with his partners (or worse HEHEHEHE).
I laughed non-stop with that.
Had a lot of references to AVP and Giger's creations too.
Of course Shepard seducing and bringing yautjas (predators), sil (that alien from "species" movie) and even a xenomorph queen aboard SSV Normandy - among other equally dangerous species - can only lead to hilariously horrible results.

Didn't they have Krypton on it too, forgot which game had the reference.
