Dying in glorious firefights, and bumming people out via roleplay.

The expanded story and the old, retro future aesthetic of the Aliens universe reminds me of Fallout, believe it or not.

I love the ability to work with people on the ground especially, making small talk while you don't know what's behind that corner a few feet away from your post.

The marines are really where the story comes from. Their victories, their defeats, and how they live through the fateful operation.

Making short-term pals.
Having the guy that I dragged from the battlefield and saved get back on his feet and drag my dying corpse in an escape pod at the end of the round.

Agreed with Zartam - played squad lead the other night, and although the round was awful my squad made it great for me. As Squad Lead I knew I could rely on Jeser, my spec, to yell at the marines until they did what I said (he was my commissar) and Anna, the medic, did a fine job in keeping Charlie alive. Ordered them to escape when the round was ending - but Anna died treating wounded in medbay. RIP Charlie squad, your leader will tell your story whenever those pods get picked up.

Any game where I find a reliable marine that I can talk shit and fight with is a good game.

Seriously, this game wouldn't have been half as fun without having friends to play with. These people are what make it worth it for me.

Every time an RP situation gets comedic. Like when I was a survivor and taken to the nest to be a "pet". I was given my own room yada yada(got chestbursted eventually). Just funny RP in general. Nothing better than over escalating a situation that started with a peaceful attachment protest and ended in death squad being called for mutiny.
Look, I've heard your cries, and your calls.
I know you're mad at Command. I know you're angry. I know you're angry that those dinosaurs killed your fellow men.
You told me this, and I heard you.
But you shouldn't be angry at your command. If you're angry at command, you're saying that command sent those men to die. But command didn't kill those men. The enemy killed those men. They took your comrades from you. That's the important thing to remember, it was the enemy who took your friends, and you should be really REALLY mad at them.
Before you go back down there, I'm reminding you who your enemy is. The enemy.

I feel safe inside when I know someone with a familiar name, as if they are going g to carry to me victory!

Then I see them die. . .

Sorry, but from now on, CM is playing Reality Ensues as the leading trope. We will not be accepting plot armor of any kind.
You will never be as bad as the baldie who picked up a tactical shotgun while a hunter was pouncing on top of a CMO for 4 seconds, with his only response being to pace around before being decap'd by said hunter. You are not Brett Kimple, and you never will be. You are not the reason why I regular MP.
