Guild Life IC - "Hand in your applications here"

[Garrison]

Shauns head turned in the direction of the echo, raising the torch, he cautiously moves in to investigate. Around a corner in a dimly lit portion of the Cavern, he then finds a man chained down to a table. His tunic was missing and there was a pile of clothes and gear in a pile and what seemed to be a scripture of some kind on the ground nearby.

Looks like he was gonna be some sort of sacrifice before we charged in here.

He speaks to the man, as he looks around for a key or some means of getting the chains free from the table.

"How'd you end up down here with these crazed folk?"

Chev looked at shaun with a look of relief "Well, I was minding my business on the road when I found these hooded persons standing there, looking at me with a strange look which gave a shivering to my spine but I saluted them and walked past them. Then, I found them surrounding me and got hit on the head. Last thing I know I was here."

Chev took a moment to examine the other people "So...What brings you Civies to this Cavern unless you're some fools or some Bounty Hunters?", He coughed for a moment and took a glance at the Muscular Orc "And you, which Clan are you from Orc?"

[Karmac]

"One that doesn't much care about me anymore"
Gazghul grunts and searches the corpses for anything of use.

[Garrison]

Shaun replies after Gazghul finishes his response.

"We aren't bounty hunters.. per-se.. We are from the Adventurers Guild. One of their associates from Valkia inherited this mine and they sent us here to make sure it was safe to work in. "

Still searching, Shaun mumbles to himself.

"now if I had a prisoner... where would I keep the key?" " "...Hey Gazghul, do any of those guys look more special then the rest?"

"Ah, the Adventurer's Guild you say. I've always wanted to be an adventurer since I was a lil-", Chev cuts the talk for a moment...

"Nevermind. I'd like to get free from these chains"

[Karmac]

"uhh if by speshul you means dedder than a doornob, den yeah, dere's lotsa speshul 'uns"

[Garrison]

Shaun begins to head back to the central portion of the Cavern where the cultists were. The reek of death and decay is stronger then before.

"uh, no, I mean do any of them have a fancy robe, or something to indicate they were the leader?"

Giving a quick glance around the area. Shaun noticed their robes were either torn up or drenched in blood, making it difficult to spot any unique details among them. He begins to help Gazghul search through the remaining bodies.

"I don't want to interrupt your Searching for Key mood you're in, but I why don't you try bashing the chains with your sword? I mean, I don't even see a key lock anywhere on the chains"

[Amaxin]

"We could bash the chains off with a sword. We also might be able to cut your hand off by an accident, and I don't think that's a fate you wish for."

Grumbling quietly, Anri starts looking around in the darkness for a key to the chains.

[Kavrick]

On the bodies the group finds the following: 7 daggers, A unidentified tome, 2 Valis and a key.

[Garrison]

Shaun reaches into his bag and takes out the 15 Valis he snagged earlier, and sorts it with the last two coins into 4 stacks, one with an extra Valis.

"So, that makes 4 Valis for each of us, you guys can fight over who gets the last one"

Shaun takes the Key and jogs over to the chained man and begins to unlock his shackles.

Chev stepped off the table after Shaun had freed him, he began rubbing his arm because it hurt him from the chains pressing on him.

"Ah, what a relief. I want to thank you because you've rescued me"

Chev politely bowed and then looked at the daggers that they looted from the cultists "And I don't see any good way to thank you other than joining your group. You know, extra manpower is always needed right? Do you mind me taking one or two of these daggers?"

[Garrison]

Shaun shrugged.

"Guess your gonna need something in case we run into trouble on the way back to town"

Shaun takes the tome after he brushes the dirt off the pages. He closes it and stashes it in his bag. His eyes turn to the cavern walls, looking at the streaks of metallic orange lining them.

"You guys think the Adventurers guild would argue with us if we took some ore for ourselves?"

[SagaSword]

Chev smiles and goes to pick up 2 of the daggers left on the ground.

"Thank you, It's a pleasure to protect those who saved my life"

He then went to examine the ores in the cavern's walls "Hmm, even if you take some ores with you it won't be much when you sell it. Big Merchants and Kings tend to have slaves and miners work here and they must have a Castle load of Iron"

[Garrison]

"I suppose you are right, but not every town or village can afford or enforce an army of slaves and workers."

Shaun wonders over to the pile of gibs again, his eyes set on what caught his attention, a rather clean rib bone protruding from the flesh. He begins to attempt to snap the bone free from the pile, after a few tries and excessive exertion, the bone comes free with a sickening crack. As he burns off the flesh and blood on the bone with the torch, he begins to speak.

"I don't believe introductions were made, I am Shaun Merton, Alchemist by trade. The man with the shield over there is Sir Godwin of Albion, and the Orc goes by the name of Gazghul"

Shaun then peers over to the Devum girl.

"hm, apologies, but I don't think I've gotten your name yet."

[SagaSword]

Chev cocks his head towards the group with a smile "Ah, where are my manners, my Name is Chev, Chev from Clan Fangsgate"

He then takes a step forward and looks at the exit "So, Shall we go? Do you have any other business down there?"

[Karmac]

"We could always go lookin' fer more shinies, nuffin wrong wif gettin' more shinies"

[Garrison]

"Indeed Gazghul, there is nothing wrong with looking for more shinnies and coin. But is there any more to be found in tunnels of ore and... eviscerated.... corpses?"

Shaun takes a few steps towards the darkness of the cavern. He slowly waves the torch around in the pitch black to see if there are anymore pathways to be found.

[Kavrick]

Peering into the darkness with his light, Shaun fines another path on the furthest side of the cavern continuing down into the earth.

[Amaxin]

"There's always ought to be more," Anri grumbles under her breath.

Stepping towards Shaun quietly, she takes a glance down the path in the cavern, squinting her eyes slightly and whispering to the man in a discrete manner.

"What makes you think we can trust him? As far as we know, he might be simply bluffing and getting us into even more trouble. Don't get me wrong, but as far as I want to trust everyone around here, I also wish to stay alive."

[Karmac]

"Well oi fink we shud go check out da rest uv da caves, an if this lad starts aktin up I'll krump 'im, 'ows dat sound?"

Gazghul hefts his sword as he glares at the former prisoner.

Chev sighs with a disappointing look "I figured you'd want to cut my guts to be safe, then again you have all the rights to be skeptical about me. I will be at the front of the group for you to make sure I won't back stab you"

He stood next to Shaun and asked with a friendly smile "Lead the way, Shaun"

Then he realized Sir Godwin in a distance "Are you going with us, Sir Godwin? You haven't spoken a word since you saw me"

[Garrison]

as Anri whispers, Shaun's expression doesn't seem to change. As if he's already made up his mind, he whispers back.

"Seeing how that guy was desperate to get out of here, it leads me to believe he's telling the truth. Never-the-less, feel free to keep an eye on him."

Shaun turns to Gazghul

"Although we could call it quits now, I suppose it would be best to be sure every part of this mine is safe."

Shaun takes a breath, draws his Short Sword, and cautiously marches forward into the tunnel.

Godwin made his way towards the others at last, having spent the last few minutes checking his sword.
" I has't reacquir'd mine own weapon, t is eft to slay moo fiends. Shalt we venture onwards?."

[Garrison]

"We are already venturing onward, Sir! Can you and your shield get up front? I don't feel very suited for this position."
