[Karmac]

Gazghul aquires the group's map and gives it a quick scan,
"Right den, da bloke said we gotta go uhhh norf east fa 2 days I fink, so we goin dis way"
Gazghul then folds up the map and begins plodding off in the direction of adventure.

[Garrison]

As the group begins to march out of the Village in the charted direction. Cautiously marching alongside the Orc, Shaun observes the peculiar diversity of his newfound comrades. Although he had interacted with Orcs in the past, they were typically on the hostile side. He then looks to the rest of the group, unsure what to think of the corrupted Devum Girl. Although he heard hearsay of their origins and behavior, he wasn't sure what to think of her. Then he looks with intrigue, noticing that there is an Avan amongst them. He had seen Avans before, but seeing one was so rare and majestic that it made each sighting similar to that of seeing a celebrity. Then there was Sir Godwin, proudly marching forward, he seemed rather friendly to those below him compared to other Nobles he had seen, but just as proud as he would expect of their status.

After his observations, he replies to the Orcs comment: "Speaking of which, what is our destination?"

[Karmac]

Gazghul scratches his head for a few moments, searching for an answer to the man's question,
"If I'z remembrin' correctly we is 'eaded to a mine what may have sum bandits squatting in it an' we is supposed to krump them good, or sumfin loik dat"
Gazghul wondered what he was supposed to do if there weren't any bandits there, then shrugged and figured he'd deal with it when the time came, or he'd wait for somebody else to figure it out.

Gazghul then took a look at the group of adventurers he'd ended up with and thought about how he felt about them, he wasn't much impressed by the two sneaky ones, but he knew being cunnin' was just as necessary as being a brutal warrior. The other two members of the party however, were immediately on his good side by at least appearing to be competent fighters, and he figured that bloke with the funny accent was definitely capable of holding up to his appearance. All in all he decided he was perfectly fine to travel with this group and continued marching to the destination.

Godwin, after some minor struggling, managed store the newly acquired gear and attach his heater shield to his back, resting the blade of the longsword on his shoulder, the right hand gripping the hilt as he kept marching onwards, calmly, taking the time to consider the party.

The Orc, rumored to be brutish and aggressive per racial standard, appeared to be.....strangely intellectual, than expected for one atleast.
The Devum, corrupted by nature, shunned simply for their origin, atleast thats what he had heard back home, decent enough, and not as malevolent as expected so far.
The Avan, colorful, he hoped he would get to witness their sought out and talked about exotic craftsmanship, perhaps even acquire an example.
The Human, a fellow human, someone that would likely understand the hardships of what was to come from a simillar point of view.

[Kavrick]

After a short while the red glow of distant sunset gave way to the night sky, after making decent progress during what light you had, you follow a stream that crossed the road through a thicket and into a clearing. A perfect place to set up camp

[You would have consumed a single flatbread ration and your waterskin.]

[Garrison]

Sitting on his bedroll, Shaun randomly begins to snap his fingers. After a few tries, his fingers begin to create sparks. He closes his eyes and concentrates. Then with an audible SNAP, a small ball of flame ignites from the tip of his finger. Shaun smiles with wonder at the results. He then procures a small leather-bound book from his bag and begins to read from it, using the flame as a light.

[Karmac]

Gazghul lay down on his bedroll for a few minutes before standing up and placing a hand on his longsword, he was unfamiliar with the weapons feel still, so he decided to fix that. After finding a suitable tree to practice his swordwork on, Gazghul began hacking away at the trunk of it, slashing, stabbing and striking it with the hilt of his newly aquired weapon until he ran out of energy to do so.

[Garrison]

As splinters of wood and bark scatter across the camp site, Shaun closes his book, the flame at his finger dissipates. He pockets a few large pieces of bark in a string bag as he approaches the Orc.

""So umm.. You worked as a Lumberjack before?"

Shaun's gaze turns toward a few larger chunks of wood, he gathers them up into a pile.

[Karmac]

Gazghul smirked at the man, taking a break from his training,
"Naw I learned me cuttin' skills as a marauder, used to go around knocking down doors wiv da boyz, dats da past though so you don't gotsa worry bout me doin' dat no more, probbly. Anyways, whats yer profeshun then?"

[Garrison]

Shaun did his best to conceal his fear of standing in front of a former orc marauder. Keeping himself composed he replied
"I am an Alchemist by trade... or... was... before my tools and such were stolen.. ironically, by marauders."

[Karmac]

Gazghul scratches the back of his head awkwardly,
"I'm uhh, sorry fer yer loss... So err, this alchemy malarky, wassit all about? Never did bovva learnin too much about da more mysterious an' magical whatsits"

[Garrison]

Shaun perks an eye brow, taken aback at the Orcs question. He had never taken an Orc to be interested in anything that didn't involve dismembering or murdering your foes. He proceeds to answer the question.

""As simple as I can make it, Alchemy takes the magical or medicinal parts of a plant or mineral found in nature, and processes it into something that can be used to do various things: from healing wounds; or illness; to empowering your equipment; or yourself. Mostly in the form of potions, which is what me and my mentor specialized in. However, I do believe Alchemy can also be used to enhance Magic.. Its just I hadn't really found any way to study it, until today."

Shaun then snaps his finger again, this time on the first try, the small ball of flame SNAPS back into existence.

"This was a spell I learned out of the adventurers tome we got. Although its a pretty basic. I'm hoping to learn some more advanced spells once the opportunity presents itself."

Instead of dismissing it like last time, Shaun lobs the ball of flame onto the pile of wood and splinters he rounded up earlier. It splashes onto the wood, igniting it into a small camp fire.

"Now that I think about it, I never got you're name. Mine is Shaun Merton"

[Karmac]

Gazghul stares at the fire for a moment, magic would never cease to amaze him,
"Dats alot of stuff to take in, I fink I'll stick ta just hittin' fings, oh uh, me names Gazghul, is good ta know who yer gonna be foitin' with, an I reckon dere's gonna be lotsa foitin' in da future lad"

[Garrison]

Shaun nods to Gazghul, with the area now illuminated, he begins searching the Thicket and stream, filling a few flasks with water while he's there.

"Well if its anything to you Gazghul, your probably the first Orc I've met that didn't try to rob or kill me these past few seasons. It's refreshing to actually fight alongside one for a change.""

[Karmac]

Gazghul silently nods in return and goes back to hacking away at the tree.

[Kavrick]

Shaun spends his evening rummaging through the brush looking for aught to use, using what knowledge of plants he has from his days an an alchemist he manages to find a single Liferoot plant, a pare of Earthenroots and four mageblooms suitable for use.

[Shaun gains the "Novice Herbalist" trait, increasing his rolls to find plants by 1]

[Ghazgul gains the "Novice Swordsman" trait, increasing the chance to hit the body part he's aiming at by 1]

Finished with their duties, the party settles down under the night sky, getting a well deserved rest for the first time since they arrive, with the cold wind looming over. Sunset dawns and the party gather their belongings to set on the road again. Following Gazghul, the group starts treading uneven terrain, as the area becoming rough and mountainous, but before long Anri spots a dig site in the distance, with shovels, picks and minecarts scattered around what can be guessed is the entrance. From what you can see from where you are, there is nothing out of line or particular about the mine. The group remains on their perch in sight of the site and decides to begin their plans for the approach.

[Karmac]

Gazghul takes a quick look at the area ahead and turns to the group,
"I says we jus' walk in dere expectin' an' ambush, dat way we won't be surprised when dey ambush us, plus it'll be more fun dat way. An' if deres no ambush or bandits den we win anyways."

[Amaxin]

Anri gives the orc a brief glance, as she huffs through her nose quietly. "If you want to go in first and take the beating, I'll support that idea." Hopping on a nearby tree stump and giving the area yet another glance, she pondered for a moment. "Beefy ones in the first line, wiry in the second - that's my idea. Once we enter the mine, there's not enough space to maneuver - we push in, or pull back." She says almost askingly, glancing between the group members with curiosity.

[coroneljones]

Godwin nods, grabbing the shield from his back with his left hand, longsword in his right
"The palmy wend in front, none shalt withstand their might, n'r sir n'r beast. "

[Garrison]

"A well crafted idea Devum, best I've heard today."

Taking a breath, Shaun draws his short sword. Looking on as Sir Godwin and Gazghul step forward.

"Lead the way, I'll jump in if there's an opening or you're out numbered."

[Kavrick]

approaching the entrance, you come several scraps of torn cloth and splatters of blood, obviously the site of a gruesome murder, the only missing piece being any sort of corpse. You reach an old wooden door barring the way inside and press on it gently, revealing it to be locked.

[Karmac]

Gazghul grunts, staring at the door impeding his progress, and tries to barge his way through the door.

[Kavrick]

Gazghul shoulder barges the door, instantly demolishing it and sending him barreling into the next room. He drags himself off the damp ground and brushes himself off, the cavern in front of him winds down into the distance, the dim light forbidding him to make out any details.

Godwin keeps his shield raised, longsword at the ready

[Kavrick]

Having no time to react, Gazgul hears a groan before a figure that was standing to the side of the door swings his pick into his chest, noticing nothing but the feeling of blood gathering in his lungs.
[Grazgul takes 6 damage, and loses 25% endurance from a punctured lung.]
