Re: The Future of Tribes as a Game-Mode
Honestly I've had less and less desire to host big events, since anytime I do someone makes a complaint on the forums, ruins the events in-game or deadchat just salts everything up.
It's extremely tiring and considering I don't play in most of these special events I get really worn down with all the negativity going on.

Which is fucking pathetic of people to complain about. An event is an event. If it's good, compliment the Staff, if it's bad, critique it. I for one appreciate the events you guys put on.Feweh wrote:Honestly I've had less and less desire to host big events, since anytime I do someone makes a complaint on the forums, ruins the events in-game or deadchat just salts everything up.

As do I. It's really disappointing to see people not want change and want to play the same old boring shoot aliums round every day instead of it being spiced up for a change.CrimsonAerospace wrote:Which is fucking pathetic of people to complain about. Just some funny moments.

Re: The Future of Tribes as a Game-Mode
Maybe you should get some help from other staff members? To ease the amount of stress making events more of a group effort instead of a YOU effort, try and organize a scheduled event and try to have a handful of staff on so all of you can discuss what would be good for the event and what would be generally accepted. While I doubt all staff members would want to supervise the entire event, but I'm sure there are some willing to help in the event.
I'm not all that knowledgeable on how like staff works with who can do what and who can't. They don't call it a Staff "Team" for no reason, also there should be a lot more pre-planning with events, I'm sure there is. I know circumstances can change the plan but doesn't mean things can't be bent to fit the situation. I believe if there's pre-planning the other staff members can be prepared for what's to come and are able to adjust themselves for it.
This is all my opinion, as said before I'm not very knowledgeable so yeah.

Re: The Future of Tribes as a Game-Mode
I've seen other servers gather up some of the more creative members of their community, and give them limited powers to help think up and run events. Just a pitch, I know we already have a lot of staff to manage, but maybe some help doing larger-scale events would help?shyshadow wrote:Maybe you should get some help from other staff members? C'mon Feweh if dealing with morons is what's keeping you down, use your staff team for that, you can even delegate in us the whole event so you can play

Yeah, that's totally fair. If I were in your position I'd probably stop doing big events for a while because if you force yourself to do them for the playerbase you'll probably have a lot less fun setting them up and burn yourself out on the community. By not having one for a longer period of time hopefully the playerbase will realize they shouldn't salt so much about the events (although they find a way to salt about anything) and appreciate them more.
I guess my only piece of advice would be that if you don't have a desire to do something, don't. I now that in my experience when something I used to enjoy starts getting forced on me I start to resent it and I'd hate to see that happen to the mighty Feweh. Maybe a lack of bigger rounds can spur the development of smaller "events" like giving the CL objectives or having a UPP ERT spawn in halfway through the round.

Re: The Future of Tribes as a Game-Mode
Well, hopefully there won't just be two game modes forever. I mean, dont get me wrong, i love what ive experienced in the year or so that ive been off and on playing this server, but the same thing repetitively forever does get a bit old. Thats why im sticking around, try to get recognized by others, maybe unlock some whitelists

Re: The Future of Tribes as a Game-Mode
Please don't do a colonist Ert seriously it gets confusing, last time so many people were in our tribe I had no idea who everybody was. Put a limit to how many people in a tribe and also instead of colonist ert you could possibly just spawn in hellhounds or xenos like u said xenos will be used to kill for skin. And maybe Predators can join in roleplaying as unblooded cause in the movie every season they got 3 predators to hunt the humans down.

Re: The Future of Tribes as a Game-Mode
Small update.
With Artouris back on the team there is hope that eventually will get a proper Hunger Games map and I'll bring back Tribes.
Until then, its too much work on my end and it's fucking exhausting to manage

Re: The Future of Tribes as a Game-Mode
There was a rather nice round of tribes that happened a week or two back, was a fun thing to try since I hadn't been in that round type before.

Does Tribes have a future without Feweh? Hopefully somebody can take over once staff changes have been made.
I play as Robert 'Scotch' MacMillan.

Re: The Future of Tribes as a Game-Mode
Maybe if all the Admins+ worked together. The amount of plates to keep spinning at once on high pop tribes is substantial. I wouldn't expect Tribes again.

Re: The Future of Tribes as a Game-Mode
I like this idea really do. I’ve only played ONE round of tribe before (I always seemed to catch it at the end of the round) Making it based on the movie more sounds fantastic.
