General McChrystal retired in June 2010.

General Nicholson is the commander of all Allied forces in Afghanistan. He's literally the Allied Land Commander for all of NATO. If you were operating in Afghanistan, your unit was under his command.
NATO doesn't have Command in Afghanistan, that's ISAF, why do you think every US and Colliton soldier has the ISAF patch? Look up ISAF and you'll see every country that is involved in it.

I hate to ask but, are you retarded or trolling?

ISAF is a NATO-led mission, established by the UN.

You're mixing up NATO for ISAF. You're saying NATO is running the Middle Eastern War, but they built ISAF to do so itself. General Nicholson wouldn't be running ISAF if he was a NATO stationed Commander. Any military personnel would be able to tell the difference between NATO-led and ISAF-led. I also know that there was never a General Nicholson (US Army) on any NATO command element. I had to know that because I was a Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps, and I had to know my Chain of Command from my Platoon Sergeant to the President of the United States. General Nicholson is the current leader for Resolute Support Missions, a totally different format from ISAF. RS and ISAF both works in the Middle East, but General Nicholson WAS NOT my Commanding Officer because I was never a Resolute Support Marine, I was an ISAF Marine.

If you were a Soldier or Marine like you said you were, then you'd be able to tell the difference between the ISAF and RS. And even if you were able to tell the difference, your experience from 03-07 is pretty outdated, so I don't hold it against you that you don't know what I and the Marines were doing in Afghanistan. Sure our mission changed over the years as we moved from country to country, but if I'm telling you that you're wrong because I was there, then you might wanna look back at our mission statements bossman.

I spent 4 years in the Army as a Tactical Intelligence Analyst deployed down to a Cav Unit. There are several people on CM who can confirm my service. Including some who know who I am IRL, and one who's currently stationed at my old post.

I knew the chain of command, and kept up with who was in charge of what.

Read up though:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Internati ... ance_Force - Since you obviously don't know what they are. First sentence says NATO-led.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_W._Nicholson_Jr. - Commander of all US Afghanistan forces from around 2014-now, also holding the position of Commander of Allied Land Command - He's commanding RS, but also was COMMANDER of the USF-A.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stanley_A._McChrystal - Commander of US Afghanistan forces until 2010 (at which point, in June he was removed from command and then retired).

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joseph_Dunford - Commander of US Afghanistan Forces from 2013-2014.

As far as this whole conversation, it's gone off-topic so I'm locking this.

If you want to continue it, find me on discord.
