Moments in your CM career that have made you gone, "Wow"

I remember late-waking up from cryo, and stumbling around trying to get my bearings. Things seemed off, there were broken lights, busted floor tiles with loose wiring, and bloody footprints everywhere. I figured I might as well make my way to the canteen to see what was going on. As I stepped into the cafeteria, I saw a few people bolting around running for their lives from... something. I stood in the doorway and gawked for a few seconds before someone pulled me back through the door and out of the mess hall, thus saving my life. At that moment, the entire cafeteria proceeded to explode and vaporize into nothing - the last view I had of it was nothing but chunks of debris and bodies floating in space before the emergency pressure doors slammed shut. The entire section of the ship was just gone.

To this day I’m not sure what caused that explosion. But it was just like that scene in Starship Troopers.

I fucked up the SM containment halfway through a round, when trying to mod it to superheat vents, and I was killed by a hunter before I could finish sealing it off.

The fuckup exposed it to O2 (causing it to get more energetic), AND caused it to use the REST OF THE SHIP as it's heat sink.

At least 20, probably 30 marines died in the cafeteria, as well as an unknown number of aliens, due to the slow heating of the air damaging EVERYONE to the point that the medics/weeds couldn't keep up.

On one hand, not my finest moment. On the other... it was pretty neat to see the "boiled frog effect" in action.

Yesterday (12/18/2017) on Prison, We were holding Medical west of LZ 2. I was playing as a Combat Medic, basically dragging the wounded to safety, patching them up and sending them on their way. Eventually the Aliens start making headway towards the LZ 2 FOB we had going on, and begun their siege. Inbetween the time I had to myself after going from wounded to wounded, I would partake in some lovely combat. I ended up buckshot crit'ing a Elite Runner, killing him on the spot before I noticed the queen was moving South through Kitchen through the Bathroom hallway, I knew the Aliens would be flanking. I call this out on radio about 4 times (Combat spams your chatbox) while also dealing with the flood of bodies coming my way. At this point, everyone who was holding the FOB was a mix of Delta, Charlie and Bravo, in total about 15 men vs the might of the Xeno flood. I think Alpha was assigned to FOB LZ 1.

I continue to update my SO on the situation, and that we need the Normandy down on LZ 2 now. My SO tells me "1 minute", I reply with "We don't have 30 seconds!" They were practically right on top of us at that point, I do not know why the Xenos didn't wipe us all together, They surely had the opportunity. Everything from Crushers, to Hunters, to Runners were on top of us. The Queen must've thought we were a bigger force than we actually were to hold em off for that long. 1 minute and a fuck ton of gunfire, screams, both Xeno and Human later, and me getting pounced by a Elite Hunter and getting slashed to death. The Normandy finally lands... on top of a Mature Carrier, killing it instantly. Everyone who was combat capable covered the wounded to the Normandy, and my lifeless corpse was dragged onto the dropship by a Marine I had just saved not even 5 minutes earlier. A Medic on the dropship revived me, and I haven't even had the opportunity to thank the Marine who dragged me onto the dropship (except in OOC) I owe him a beer. You know who you are

- A wow moment to me cause it was a really epic last stand/retreat, not the typical bullshit we have. No OB, or explosions involved, just a FUCK TON of bullets, luck and robustness.

Alpha aSL places an OB in the badky damaged FOB in case we need to evac. He repeatedly screams on comms not to fire.

The Alpha SO, who had been absent doing who knows what without notifying the rest of command walks in from the CIC's Brig access wearing a Liaison's Tan Suit with his uniform in his hand, makes a BEELINE for the Alpha console and wordlessly fires the OB.

I just sat there in utter shock and horror for a good five seconds.

I was playing as a CL once, my first time as CL, and I was very lucky to have a very responsive staff who constantly replied to my faxes.

Round went through its course, debriefed survivors, made deals and the likes. Someone kept honking a rubber ducky, so the admemes made it explode.

But the best part of the round was when I requested PMC and they showed up while the Almayer was getting boarded. I hired two marines to escort me, ended up saving a marine who got jumped by a mature hunter with my 88mod, and managed to escape planetside with an SO a doctor, and two PMCs, plus one marine I hired.

Round ended when Feweh turned himself to a firebreathing ravager, which two of the PMCs killed, then he summoned something else, can't quite remember what and ended up killing them.
If I recall, it was because he couldn't manually end the round, and the round wouldn't end if there's no marines on the Almayer.

Spawned as a PMC responding to a fax from CL. We were there to protect him. He wasn't going to the colony (LV), but his faxes must have worried W-Y enough to send bodyguards. So our team (me, another standard and our leader) rock up to CL office and already the MPs are on our asses because fuk u W-Y. Cue lots of tension between the CL and CMP that resulted in an MP being permanently posted to our CL's office to eep an eye on us.

So we're standing around CL's office, he's talking with Team Leader and writing reports. The MP chimes in occasionally. We pretend to listen. My fellow PMC Standard and I have a long conversation in whispers, everything from what we spent our last paycheck on to how badly equipped the USCM is, to what we'd like to do with this MP and the CO ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) (i got dibs on the MP, he had to go for the CO). Of course the MP is weirded out and annoyed by our silent, harmless convo and accuses us of plotting to kill her. We glare wordlessly at her. My colleague elbows me and asks quietly why I always go for the crazy ones. I laugh silently. The MP gets madder.

This goes on for most of the round. We hear on comms that marines somehow let 9 xenos multiply to 17 and are being pushed back. We barely suppress our laughter at the verious USCM MPs and officers that come to poke around the office and quarters. CO announces an execution, the MP posted to us makes an excuse and leaves. We hit the shutters and erupt in raucous laughter at how much these hardheads suck, have some smokes and drink and a good time shittalking USCM.

The MP returns. I'm playing on the CL's vidya cabinet. We continue to whisper and make smug faces. I won a roll of camera film. I lean over the cabinet and smirk at the MP. She gets antsy again, so the CL asks if she'd be annoyed if he started doing it and starts whispering to our Team Leader. She leaves. We cackle cacophonously.

We hear a researcher on command channel, and our CL doesn't like it. Within seconds, our pet MP is convinced that subduing this egghead is the best course of action. So we posse up and watch the MP deliver justice. Or we would have if they didn't pussy out. Quitters.

Eventually marines get memed back to the Almayer and ayys come for us. Soon as evac's called we snag two pods for corporate use only. The MP that's the centre of our torment wanders past. We invite her in just in time for launch. Our round ends with me asking the MP to come with me on my vacation to the Martian Highlands.

None of us fired a bullet, but that was the most fun I've had as an ERT, if not ever. Props to everyone that was part of that. Wish I capped it.

There was an MP alone in the self destruct - the Marines were fighting tooth and nail - and indeed, they held Xenos off just long enough for that final rod to get toggled...

The last few Marines screamed for the MP to fire the SD...

He decided he would wait until the Xenos were at the windows. But of course, with a slash of an APC, the fact he delayed cost him the chance to make the Marines sacrifice worth it!

Hey! Pretty sure that was me back when I was new! Didn't know about APCs or anything like that haha. I was confused at that point as got an order from XO to not blow up til they were at the windows. Waited too long, didn't work and yeah we lost. Sad that didn't work out, but damn the marines that round was badass. Knew for next time :')

Just myself and another PFC, separated from our respective squadrons and in a room full of dead marines. The other PFC is missing a hand. Asked me to reload his revolver for him so he can keep fighting.

Its hard to take this game seriously sometimes, but holy shit that moment was intense. We both got out alive, but goddamn that was grim.

One time on Big-Red, me and another PFC managed to get away from the falling LZ1 and made it over to the morgue. After hiding in the coffins for a bit and healing up, we tried to make our way down to medical but then were swamped by tons of xenos. We surprisingly made it into medical, but then were cut off and forced to go into the surgery room. I climbed over the table, and when it was my buds turn; hunters, runners, and a hivelord ran in there and cut him up while he was trying to climb over. I was able to kill a runner, but it was insane to see him get dragged away from the table and cut up.

Well, how I will start this?

I was a Charlie Specialist, with the Sniper gear, I was walking alone with Delta Specialist (RPG) and a few Bravo Marines, we have spotted a Predator at the West of Hydro, near Fitness, we did not talk or tried another thing because the Delta Specialist just have put a AP Missile direclty in his head even before we start talk, when the Predator fell to the floor we started to fire at him, more marines came and he actived his Auto-Destruction device, destroying half of Bravo together with me and the Delta Specialist.

All alright, I got medvac and aided by the Doctors, how I used all my Incendiary in the predator I moved to the RO to get more Incendiary rounds; After 3 minutes waiting for them to open the shutters, I started joking via radio that I had 96 KG of C4 on my body and I was going to blow up RO. The MPs came and detained me, when I was in the Brig they searched me to find C4 and when they didn't I said the phrase who I will regret for the rest of my life "Alah took them!", the MPs just throwed me inside a cell and started to speak with the Commander about traitoring, the CO just authorized my execution without thinking two times when they said about my last phrase.

After being cuffed and with 3 MPs with guns pointed to my head, I asked to appeal direct to the CO, my objective was keep the roleplay for a long time so the xenos will come up and they will be forced to leave me; somehow the plan worked and after 50 minutes speaking with the CMP, CO and the MPs they have to free me because of the ayyys coming up, I had been very happy! until I walk 10 steps from the Brig door and being insta gibbed.

What happened? a Predator inside Normandy was fighting with the marines, and when he was going to grab a marine he accidentaly used the Auto-Destruct device, exploding in pieces together with everyone in a radius of 10m, and who was in inside this radium? ME! walking innocently outside Normandy.

Conclusion: I broke my mouse on the wall.

Alaina won a duel againts symbiosis and showed mercy. Winning our respect and a sword, then we decided to return her to the Almayer againts the entire hive, we boarded the almayer with the xenos protecting her from the xeno scum that wanted to have her for their evil schemes..

Alamo crashed, we went out, passed the marine defences and left Alaina, marines destroyed the xenos and when the round ended I got unga dunga

Yesterday the CMO offered me narcotics in front of a MP.

I laughed nervously, made excuses to leave and send a very strongly worded fax that never got answered.

One of the first tests of the new prison map way back in July I think. I was a marine and spent most of my time on the ground rescuing wounded marines and leading lost marines back to the LZ. After getting sufficient PTSD from witnessing people die all across the station and the fall of the LZ right before we took off I spent the rest of my round talking with Rain Winter in the evac-pod that attracted everyone's attention. Im sure some people here remember that round.

Had a round where I was SL. We had basically wiped out all the Xenos and some marine brings up the idea of a mutiny because we charged in the hive, which helped kill basically all the ayys but caused us to lose half of the marines. Many marines agreed while others complimented the CO on his decision for the charge. We ended up getting divided up into Loyalists, Patriots (those against the CO I guess) and Neutralists (those who couldn't pick a side). Besides a PO, I was the highest ranking member who claimed to be a neutralist, so I took command and made myself leader of the Neutralists. After threats of fighting and worried glances, gunfire erupted on the ship.

Immediately, I rushed to the Hangar while trying not to get shot by either side. A panicked PO was there about to take the Normandy down planet-side to avoid the fighting, but I convinced him to hold on (this was on Ice Coloney). I got on the radio and said if anyone was a Neutralist and wished to not be accidentally or purposely shot by either side, to come to the Normandy. Within 2-3 minutes, we had a group about the size of 11 in the Normandy, and the PO launched. Upon arriving on the colony, I ordered people to set up and repair barricades, saying we'd most likely be there till the fighting died down. We remained down there for a good 10-15 minutes, listening to marines fighting each other over the comms.

Suddenly, the CO came over comms. He was aware of the marines who had fled to the colony and was threatening to nuke the place if we did not return. After a minute or so of arguing if he was serious and if being underground would protect us, the group decided to return to the ship via the Normandy. I assured the CO we'd return peacefully without any fighting, but would turn to violent means if engaged for fleeing. The CO asked for the Neutralists to report to Briefing, in which we were greeted by two MPs. Most of the Patriots had been eliminated, and were making a last stand in the hallway to CIC. After another good 5 minutes, all the Patriots were confirmed dead, and the CO came back down and greeted us. From there the round ended and I assume we were most likely executed after the event. Yay!

Just today actually. It was my first time as squad medic, and I managed to heal up 2-3 people from crit, stuff another guy in a stasis bag after stabilizing him, and defibbing a couple folks before a hunter got to me. Sliced my arm off, some guys came around and saved my life. Got fixed up, went back down, retreated back to the almayer as the nexus was being overrun, and then made it to CIC, where I defibbed and stabilized yet another guy, an SO I think.

Brought her, XO, and a marine and an MP to SD, where we held off until all the rods were up. That was the first time I had been on the ship while it SD'd. Best thing ever.

For me it was the first time playing as an SO, just running overwatch like normal when Bravo just starts running at a hive, not listening to me what so ever. I just sat and watched them get picked off one by one...
Was a fun round.
