Re: Petty things you hate as a marine
You want petty things I hate? I'll give you petty things I hate.
I hate it when you have a guy with a flamer, but he only (and do I ever mean ONLY) uses it to try and set xenos on fire instead of clearing out the fields of purple goop that stand before him. Bonus points if I am a flamer user and people tell me I'm wasting flamer fuel burning weeds and crap, as if the flamer is only meant to be used as a weapon to kill things with (made a tad ironic when you consider these same people have no problem wasting bullets and buckshot to blow open xeno doors or break glass windows). Bonus bonus points if the flamer is standing in the middle of a field of sticky goop and does nothing to burn it away, as if they prefer to be slowed down than risk wasting precious flamer fuel.
Another thing that is petty that I hate? People that never turn off their burst fire, EVER. Doesn't matter where they are or what the situation is, these people will pray and spray everything and everywhere. Not only does this make Friendly Fire worse, it also means they burn through ammo even faster. I find it funny how whenever I play as a standard, I always put ammo in my belt and belt alone, but a lot of other players I noticed tend to pack extra ammo in their suit slots and their bags. Like, holy shit, The amount of ammo some people pack really says a lot about how wasteful of ammo people are.
And while this is a rarer one, I hate it when engineers bring out the Heavy MG, but then just leave it at the FoB to rust. Sentries are good for FoB Defense, but Heavy MGs are better for offence due to their fast preparation time, high ammo and damage, and the fact that even a standard can set it up and fire it. It just feels wasteful to have such a powerful weapon sit around far from the action when it could get getting plenty at the front lines, where it would be really useful for once. Besides, how often have Heavy MGs helped during the FoB defense? Little, that is what. (although that could be because by that point, the marines are already running away, so it probably barely gets used at all by then)

Re: Petty things you hate as a marine
oh, theres all sorts of little things, but theyve probably been gone over dozens of times before.
the moronic nature of 99/100 of mutinies.
the silly nature of the QM points system witholding supplies when your troops are being slaughtered and your ship is being overrun.
the stupidity of receiving pizza deliveries or a load of extra aliens as ERTs.
ARES being moronic about calculating threat level and not allowing you to even call an ert/evac/SD
the lackluster nature of the self destruct system.
the unfun and complex nature of medicine and surgeries (seriously it seems like if 2 or 3 people who main doctors on this server took a break from it the marines would be medically crippled),
95% of marines being saddled with barely-viable weapons
alternatives or improvements to those barely-viable weapons being generally overpriced while QM has to save for relevant, viable purchases like metal, grenades, sentries, spec/smart ammo instead of ever being able to try anything different
the lack of meaningful activities for the corporate liaison,
the lack of meaningful activities for the maintenance techs,
the lack of meaningful activities for MPs,
the lack of meaningful activities for the researcher guys,
people routinely forgetting to set defenses on the northeast pass on ice colony
people refusing the set defenses in front of TCOMMS on prison colony, instead fortifying the hangar north of it and thus letting aliens easily sneak into tcomms and break it, forcing people to push out and get killed trying to fix tcomms when all this could have been prevented
people refusing to STAND GUARD so all the barricades in the world just get acid puked on them
command ordering you to fortify one place, wasting your materials, then ordering you to reposition

Oh man that's the best, isn't it? "Hey Command, made that area you wanted secure more secure then fort knox", "That's great, now go halfway across the map and do it again!".
Because I'm MADE OUT OF BUILDING SUPPLIES AND CAN JUST MAKE UP AS MUCH AS I NEED OF COURSE. Not like I used all my stuff thinking this is all I was gonna make. And then it gets left un-defended and useless. Just the best.
I play as Ian Evans, the guy that is either dead after five minutes, or is the hero the USCM deserves. Usually the first one.

When someone gets infront of you, and you TK them. Or when the MP arrests a fellow Marine for no reason, and causes you to have a desire to kill them, but realised you can't.

The bandage/ointment application time and heal rate change.
Medics seems to be a bit too busy to apply something as menial as those, and you mostly use them on FFs, spit harrasment, here and there which happens quite often.
Oh also how the marine vendors only have 60 M4 mags but 75 of the rifles.

Spending a load of time prepping up, sitting through briefing, riding the DS down. All to be instatackled/stun/spit/crush/screech/OHMYGODWHY.jpeg and dragged away while your squadmates (who are about as useful as a priest in a brothel) stand around licking their own boots and fighting over your attachments.
BONUS POINTS: you are some role (SL, spec, smartgunner) that took you several non-stop rounds to roll during highpop

"Huh, would you look at that... We are screwed yet again."
Plays as Phil "Termite" Smith
You can give a smartgun to every marine, and they would still find a way to FF with it.

The lack of anything to do as an Engineering Tech.
I would like to see random power outages (That need to be fixed and don't just fix them selves), Jammed rail guns, machinery and console break downs, et cetera. This would wonders for the Engineering department.
