I could stomach the new sprites if the arms didn't look like the noodles and the sprites got their mouths back.

A lot of the anorexic looks come from the fact I'm using a dark border and more often than not we're displayed against dark tiles. I'm working on softening up the sprite a bit by reducing the contrast and increasing the vibrancy a bit.

Here's my current progress. The arms aren't as (seemingly) skinny and the jaw isn't as seemingly gaunt. I'll probably be using this as the base caucasian and adjusting accordingly.

It will take me a little time to adjust everything, because we have a lot of different sprites I have to update. Once I take care of the skin tones, I'll start working on adding mouths since that seems to be a common complaint.

One other thing to note, however. The arms on the new sprites curve at a weird, near-perfect arc. The old arms bent a little in the middle, which made them look more human. Elbows n' shit, I'd look into 'em.
