No, but I agree that some of her abilities do need a bit of toning down...just a bit.

Re: should queens have a hard counter?
I am fine with the queen's current strengths.
I think what needs to be looked at is the fact that more and more queens are staying on their ovi only until they get young T3's and then shedding it to go frontline.
I feel like if the queen is going to have these kinds of strengths, they should only EVER be seen during dire situations or when the marines are at their inner hive's door, if I'm not mistaken the point of changing queens was to remove frontline queens, but now they're more powerful than ever, they just need to wait until they have T3's.

I don't like how a 10% health left queen can just charge away after killing a couple of marines after screech charging and sleep a bit to undo all the damage done.

Re: should queens have a hard counter?
Yeah explosion still flashes them for a bit but does that really worth it? And I am pretty sure white phosphorus direct hit on crusher is almost an instakill because it sends raw burns straight. But regarding AP... It's really not that strong on anything immune to explosive...Sargeantmuffinman wrote: ↑04 Mar 2018, 10:26I didn't specify flames. Rockets on the other hand with AP were designed to target heavily armoured enemies.
I know that heavily armoured xenos like the crusher and queen are quite resistant to explosive damage, that's what the M5 RPG with AP was for, taking them out.
Yet I haven't used the RPG spec in a while so the rockets are based on assumption.
The grenades would blind the queen, unless she has immunity to that, which I am unaware of.
Regardless the matter is the following; the Queen has so
Many abilities that she can be utterly dangerous as an aggressive tool, and that's not necessary.

Re: should queens have a hard counter?
Get infront of the queen before she is fully charging while your team is shooting her back. That is the counter, same with crushers.TrollerNoob wrote: ↑04 Mar 2018, 16:51I agree with the Queen not having a hard counter, but some of her abilities should be toned down. For example, she shouldn't have neuro-spit. Charge already allows her to blitz onto a screen, screech, then turn around and blitz away when under gun-fire.

Except queen will use her screech, preventing you from body blocking her, and, unless the hive is incompetent or she is bald, will have a good amount of xenos backing her up that can tackle/neuro/knock you down or even block oncoming fire from the queen.

Re: should queens have a hard counter?
Yeah I also think the queen is kinda OP, her screech more like it, she can just charge in and get all those defending marines that are supposed to have an advantage behind cover to be like shooting targets in the floor waiting for xeno's to spit on them or slash them.

If you survive First queen's charge that always catches you with your pants down, just stand out of screech's range, and then when you hear her singing metal, rush in and shoot the shit out of her/the xenos slashing the marines who are retarded enough to stand right next to cades

Extra kudos if you manage to throw a smoke bomb when she charges in, screech wont work in the middle of any smoke cloud that obscures vision :^)

Re: should queens have a hard counter?
If I had a choice, I'd remove the neuro spit, it should be a skill reserved for those who pick the ways of the stunlock (Sentinels and beyond) but not the Queen.
As Queen, if you fucked up and wasted your screech AND your charge (somehow) you deserve to get solo'd by some Duke Nukem wannabe.

Out of all the abilities Queen has, Screech has to be the most annoying and less lore friendly one, if any of her abilities need adjusting, its this one.

Re: should queens have a hard counter?
Hell, i'd settle for returning the queen screech to tne way it used to be.
i.e if you didn't get knocked down by the screech, you're still able to move instead of having to stand perfectly still.

Re: should queens have a hard counter?
Well, there should be definitely to counter the screech, like, earmuffs or something. As a marine the screech is really fucked up and can literally get you killed/kidnapped without you having any chance to defend. Aside of that, Queen is fine. *shrug*

Screech should only be for Ovi in my opinion.

Re: should queens have a hard counter?
No. It's exactly the point. Queen can be OP but it's not meant, imo, to use its abilities offensively, especially those OP.
So if the screech is restricted to ovi it'd allow Queen to evade or NOT get caught. Should have longer stun maybe.

Re: should queens have a hard counter?
It wouldn't even do anything to Marines. They'd just keep their distance and fill her with lead, so when she screeches it's just one that makes them pause and not knockdown. Detaching takes too long that even a screech won't save her from dying however.

Re: should queens have a hard counter?
If screech is an ability that should be used defensively to evade from or defend against a marine force in the hive, each ovi position that the queen has should leave a permanent and indestructible resin marker, similar to a purple node, that allows her to use screech within a large radius around it.
Outside of that radius, screech is a no-go. It will still be extremely powerful in tight locations such as LV caves, lambda and research; where marines are forced to fight through chokepoints or hallways to push the hive; but at least it can't be used in the front lines.

Re: should queens have a hard counter?
The biggest issue is the fact that a Queen can basically crusher charge and screech immediately after, it effectivey leaves marines little to no reaction time or counterplay shouldn't it be a heavily fortified location like a FOB or an outpost that's been built for atleast 30 minutes which makes most offensive completely fail.
Even worse is the (bug?) fact that the Queen still has like 1-2 seconds to charge back to avoid damage after screeching since a crusher charge still seems to be lasting for 1-2 seconds when you change directions.

Too bad a Queen death only lasts for like no more than 8 minutes.
