I don't see why you find methods that guarantee kills "fun"

Sure, you might enjoy taking out a xeno with little effort, as they can't fight back. But the xeno player doesn't. And it isn't very supportive of a game on the side that's supposed to benefit greatly from teamplay when you prefer just running off on your own, and set up a bunch of landmines. Xenos are supposed to be able to relentlessly slaughter just about any marine that gets caught on their own. Not meet said marine one by one and die. Heck, even if there's two xenos capturing folk together, you'd be able to get at least one kill unless the other beno is fast, spatially aware, and altruistic. And that's rather risky to do either way. Imagine if every marine collectively started employing these tactics. Every flank protected... You even mentioned that you need to wait long lengths of time, so you think just standing around and doing nothing is fun as well? Passive gameplay and such?

I mean, everyone has their idea of fun. And if xeno don't have fun with the idea of not being able to fight back, welcome to the marine side where they had to deal with hugger face pie, neuro spam, tackle spam in the past, pain crit.

-snip-
I'll sum up my answer in a few key points :
- First, the gameplay is an asymmetric fighting gameplay, so you cannot use Fairplay or any shit towards the enemy. Xenos need to kill you, and you need to kill them or you will get removed from the round.
- So, covering a flank even on solo is considered egoistic for the marine team?
- If every marine would think smartly, and tactically, there would be fewer fuck ups. Way fewer. Marines are supposed to win when they are excellent, or when their enemies are shit.
- I have fun by killing my enemies, challenging myself against them. Me against them. My skills, my abilities, my mind, my analysis of the field, the calculation of the potential incoming paths and finally : my patience. All that, challenged to an enemy that is supposed to be more efficient Stat-wise, and with stun locks abilities.

The fact that you do not understand how I have fun is to your concern, the idea of fun is subjective. Some have fun by winning, others even when losing... It's not yours to say how someone must have fun. But you can explain your way to have fun, and if others share the same way, you can make good friends.

Not as much an issue. Tackle used to be a massive problem here, but generally marines are supposed to stick in clumps, and be capable to gun down xenos dragging off marines. What's more annoying still, is that random decap chance preventing a marine from being defibbed. Makes me wonder why that's still in the game.

The other issues like neuro spam are mainly just for captured marines. If we didn't stick to xenos to the canonical extent as much, I bet we wouldn't have the stupid capture system anyways. No one likes being tied up, hounded by paranoid sentinels who are also bored, until they eventually burst and die. Might as well ghost and hope to be the larva breeding in yourself, which is the only merit that really makes up being doomed to me. Namely being able to play as a xeno after you die.

Don't forget the queen, who can still screech to stun a whole bunch of marines. I don't think that's fun either, especially paired up with any T3 except the crusher. Any marines left behind will just get spat on, decapped, gassed and hugged with no way to fight back, now the marines might push the queen back, but they have to be fast enough or you're gibbed and permadead!

Back then, even if marines stick in groups and clump up together, an Ancient Runner could just walk up to a dude 4 tiles away (either lagging behind or just walking around the area), tackle him, then drag his ass away. Ancient runner's drag speed is still faster than armored human speed, and this also isn't accounting for weed or Frenzy on the runner. I know, I did this to people. Even if my tackle had missed, I would've still been able to just zip away and never get hit once.

And yes, the whole capturing shit as a whole is boring for both sides. I find myself simply pain-critting people if I get the chance now.
