"You're Marines. Act like it." Never use anything remotely close to marine rules and regs.

I thought of a Solution: The ability to Mutiny against Military Poilce
Rules would include:
You need at least 2 members of the Command Staff, (CE, CMO, and CIC Staff), one of who must be the XO/CO. If the XO/CO are in the Brig, this is moved to the current aCO.
You need 7 total people
If the Mutiny is successful, All marines who are felt to have been arrested wrongly may be released at the XO/COs Discretion.
If the Mutiny is successful, the XO/CO may demote any MPs/the CMP.
If the Mutiny is successful, and no Military Police remain afterwards, the aCO Has the final say on all matters involving Marine Law.
The Mutiny must be approved by the Admins - If they deny the Mutiny it may NOT Occur.
Thoughts?

Re: Are MPs Supposed to be Antagonists?
Had an issue the other day where my detainment was longer than my actual time for my crime. I spent near a full 30 minutes being drug back and forth to med bay, before finally getting into my cell for a 15 minute sentence.
Maybe there can be a time served type of system for these situations, there's nothing enjoyable about 45 min in the brig for a 15 min sentence.

You already tried to do that once while I was brigged, I disarmed you and made YOU eat the stale protein bars.

Re: Are MPs Supposed to be Antagonists?
I think the real simple answer is allow the CO to override punishments on top of the CMP. The CO is a whitelisted posistion so that should come with the trust. As much as I want to ICly support my MPs as a commander even it has me questioning “wait they really arrested them for that??”

Re: Are MPs Supposed to be Antagonists?
I have recently been rolling CMP/MP as a shipside role solely to stop people from being Shitlers. Even just last night I saw one of my MP's causing pawbrlems. They were at the south checkpoint and an engi and medic were trying to get in from medbay so they could go to briefing. The MP refuses to let them through for no reason, and the engi smacks the window once with their shotgun. MP threatens them to do it again, at which point I, as CMP, go in and open the shutters so they can go, then tell him not to create problems. This sort of thing is exactly what a bad MP is like. You create problems where there are none.
It is not hard to avoid being lynched as CMP, just don't be a fucking asshole. Every round I have played CMP I have loaded up on flash grenades expecting to stop a bunk riot or one of my MP's getting lynched, and yet it hasn't happened. Funny how there's no problems when you don't create them, huh? That round I spent most of my time carting wounded to medbay ultra fast, and helping out around the ship.
That round I arrested a single purrson, and it was for assault with a deadly weapon. We got full DNA evidence on them, although I agreed with them on the circumstances, so I gave them a light sentence since they seemed remorseful.

Yeah I was the RO that round and I kept having MPs come into req for some weird reason. I think they were trying to find a reason to bust my ass/my CT's ass for having guns lying around in req.

Re: Are MPs Supposed to be Antagonists?
That happens a lot for RO's because they think arresting them for *insert crime here* makes them look like better MP's or other such things

Wait really? My MP's were doing that? Shoulda said something. If I am a head of staff position and my underlings are being Shitlers, tell me. Unless it was me, in which case I was probably coming by to get some M4A3 ammo or attachies. I went in once to get a rail flashlight for my shotgun when we went bug hunting on the ship.

They weren't heckling me or anything, I just thought it was weird for them to be patrolling inside of the req area.Nantei wrote: ↑17 Jul 2018, 00:30Wait really? My MP's were doing that?
