Bonus points if you manage to convince the entire force of this all at once while Carson's there and they start trading stories about "their" version of events when he can hear.

Preprooms are closer to the engines than CIC to use marines as meatshield in case of engines boom.

Likewise, the Brig is in the front of the ship with the prep rooms closer to the rear with the hangar and medbay between them so if the Almayer is attacked the MPs can quietly space anyone who's brigged. Any OP where someone finds out things they shouldn't know will result in them being brigged and end with CIC staff faking a boarding event to make all the free marines run to Req and the prep rooms while the MPs dispose of the "prisoners" that know too much without more than a few people seeing. Anyone who witnesses gets tased, shot, and spaced to keep them quiet.

The helmets and armor do next to nothing because any actually protective materials would block the brain-controlling microwaves

The assembly of all squads is a deliberate way to cull badly performing marines and recruit the heroes into an inner circle of the USCM, dealing with the idiocy of said liabilities is the first trial by fire/initiation rite.

Squad leaders won their rank in a secret raffle.

The tank crewmen are on the Seegson company payroll and have a mission to run over as many marines as possible.

The protein bars are filled with mind control chems that the Military Police forcefeed you if you ever get brigged.
When the OB misfires and xenos are on your doorstep.

I will now insist anyone under arrest eats a protein bar. I'll even act violent if I have to.

There is a Chaplain onboard hiding amongst the crew, and you swear to see him out of the corner of your eye.

There's a conspiracy theory running around that the ship is alive and it's all made by the secret ancients who ruled the galaxy long ago.
George S.Patton once said:No bastard ever won a war by dying for his country. He won it by making some other poor dumb bastard die for his country.

I don't like cute things.

Good hunting.

Marines are stuck in a virtual reality to infinitely fight xenos. Each time they Win or lose, their memories are wiped and the simulation starts over and over again.
I play Sydney 'Lilly' Wood, the totally not depressed doctor, And the marine Dylan Bell, that probably joined the USCM by accident.
