Yeah give your XO/CO a quirk or two. Maybe he has a bunch of drinks and food ready during briefing, maybe he goes down to check on people in the RO line, maybe he says FUCK a lot.

My tips would be:
Stay creative. Make your own game when leading. Give your own meaning when Commanding.

Don't worry for winning. Winning is not everything, if you loose, people will complain, if you win... People will complain. Just have fun.

RP. Roleplay have a hell of a good thing. You have a synth? Use him. Want try a crazy tactic? Go for it. Want make Delta do a suicide push? Just do it.

The sky is the limit when you RP.

So I've gotten a few rounds under my belt, mostly as SO, but I have had some as XO and some as SL which went fairly well. I've analyzed a lot of CO's, their applications, and read up on marine law and server rules. Should I continue this or am I ready for trying the waters with an application?

Become a staple and trusted XO and SO, and you'll be CO before you know it.

Don’t get discouraged if you do not get XO. Set yourself to SO or even SL. With the influx of players trying to get on the white list everyone is trying hard to get XO.

Hell even trying to get the CO slot is becoming hard now adays.

Just give up before you are forced to join as SO. The walk of shame they call it. In all honesty though, it really is hard during High-pop at times to get CO. Low pop though rarely anyone goes CO i’m seeing.

Everyones already said it but don't get caught up in trying to win.

As long as you had fun and other players had fun, just go with it.

Engage with the players, Go fuck with medical, req, engineering. Have a laugh. As long as some part of it was enjoyable or you liked it. Than you already won tbh.
Commander Councilman. Along with Takethehot56, Lumdor, Dr.Lance, Frans Fieffer. PM me or any of them for inquiries about Commander.

Commanding isn't about winning, it's about enhancing the round for the rest of the players. I would say find gimmicks that go along with your characters traits and run with it. Make the round more fun for the rest of the team through your actions

Commanding is trying to herd a horde of Cats.

Facilitate good communication between competent people. If no one is acting competently then there's only so much you can do as the CO or XO.
