I recently had a issue with ff. See I use the rail scope. Its really good against boilers, and pissing off the hive ect. There's a problem with FF however, since you are using the scope some people like to "bump" you or use help intent and get right in front of you. This is not good. I have to check my sprite constantly to see if I'm facing the correct position because some unga wanted to move right on me. Don't get salty with me when that happens. Sometimes I even put the safety on my weapon before I fire due to this happening CONSTANTLY due to some jackasses who think its fun to do.

Also then you have the "rambos". People who have no cover but run in front of all the other people on the firing line. Because nobody can get a clear shot everyone ends up ramboing it up and getting killed via crusher/gas attack ect. They get murdered by the aliens but they prevent me from hitting anything as well.. because I'm sitting on my hands in the baracade area waiting for them to get out of the way.

I really wish the devs would change IFF to be tied to ammo, and not to the guns. It would open up a lot of cool gameplay tactics.

That way the SL can have IFF magazines for his M41A so he can stay behind the squad while still taking shots. You could also make it so you could purchase IFF drums from req for the mounted smart gun.

Yesterday, almost end of round.... aliens board the almayer and we're told to go to upper south ladder pods, so we go there adn to my surprise we're like 20 lads in a 2 tiles wide corridor. Some dumbo opens the cade and a crusher RUSHES IN ramming everyone in my line except me and some other 4 lads since we took cover in pods doors, anyways, crusher comes back up and I have him right above me, so I unleash the whole AP mag in his face to end her miserable xeno life.

Except I wasn't the one shooting at the crusher, I was shooting at a marine right above me whom I thought was me. Needless to say what happened to the poor rine. I escaped tho, sorry.

I wouldn't even mind, I'd gladly take a gun/ammo that only does half damage if it means I didn't have to worry about FF and could contribute to a fight in a small corridor (where you have a bunch of marine players who want to help but can't do jack shit, if anything they get in the way of evaccing wounded).

Yeah imagine how cool it would be if you transition to a close in fight and the SL orders you to switch to IFF rounds, and the squad collectively changes magazines to fight in CQC.

It also makes sense from a lore perspective that the marines would be issued IFF rounds for fighting onboard ships and in CQC, since it would let the squad fight effectively.

In general it's a bit silly that marines couldn't drop to a knee to let people shoot over them or that the huge xenos (eg ravager, queen) can't be shot at despite towering over an average marine.

[whine] But apart from realism reasons, I personally often just feel outright afraid of shooting since a single misclick or a second of lag can mean you just took a teammate out of the fight, if not the round entirely, and that's just not very fun. Yeah yeah, I know, I need to 'get robust' or whatever, but it's hard to practice things like anticipating to click delay or how much in front of a running Runner I should aim to hit anything, if I can royally screw over my teammates in the process. This is a team game, so even if nobody plays to win, it's not fun if you accidentally fuck over your friends.

This, as an aside, also extends so some other aspects: a newbie engie got yelled at a lot both ic and ooc for not getting comms and cades up fast enough on a round of prison station this week and all but got blamed for the marine wipe by some of the players. Some way to practice things would be quite helpful imo. [/whine]

Ff is a tricky one. I use a Lotta grenades in general so I gotta be extra careful. normal Ff is normal but holy shit grenades are annoying. Instant limb break and all.
I find dumbass Ff.hilarious, aka people pushing themselves into shit spots. Most Ff is a nuisance tough.

One of my first games (Jack Wilks was the character) I went with the spec and another marine.. later on the marine got tackled. I panicked, and set them both on fire! The specialist was like "DA FUCK!"and panicking. We got him back, he died but got brought back.
