LIGHTING:
► Show Spoiler
Lighting ranges:
- Marine lamplights extended out to ~3 tiles.
- Flares = ~4 tiles
- Flashlights = ~4 tiles
- RailLights = ~6 tiles
A flare box is equivalent to having 5 extra marines with lights. Thats alot of well lit areas. In your 3 bags are 105 flares. Thats ~420 tiles of Raw Lamp Power. jeepers, thats alot of dead mothbugs
CLEARING:
► Show Spoiler
- combat knife/ Machete = 1 attack per second
- Big weed nodes: clear with 4 knife slices or 1 machete slice
- Sticky goop: 5 knife slices / 1 machete slice
- Senior Sticky Goop: 10 knife slices / 2 machete slice
- Walls: 15+ knife slices / 5 machete attacks
When marines get tired of not one hit clearing big weeds, they will stop cleaning weeds altogether. This is bad. Aliens run ~20%-40% faster on weeds. Marines all move -20% slower on weeds. Sttick goop is even worse, with marines moving at -40%- 100% less.
TLDR: Just by clearing away big weeds/walls with your machete, you are saving HOURS of what would have been wasted time/effort from other marines. GOT SPEED = GOD SPEED.
TIPS AND TRICKS:
► Show Spoiler
- Prep your kits: It takes 5 minutes to fill 10 bags of flares. 15 flare bags will last a whole round of hard fighting
- Toss flares everywhere, you have 8 venders of flarebags per squad ( usually about 100-200 flarebags, or about 500 to 1000 flares), with about 320+ flashlight/raillights as well.
- If your near a combat area, toss out ~4 flare packs near where the medics are healing wounded. Thats a mini-resupply area now. Encourage others to toss flares with you, and they will assist.
- Run between the backline and the front line of an attack, keep tabs on whats happening. Drag wounded to the medics, cut weeds from the front line, toss flares on all your flanks. Use your scope to scare away flankers from afar, and to support the frontlines from the backline.
War is a game of logistics. The biggest of which are the ability to see what/ where your enemy is/isnt, and the ability to move your troops/ supplies/ wounded to or from areas of interest. With this loadout, you will see a ridiculous difference in how all the marines around you behave. More aggressive assults, Less casualties when retreating, more teamwork from everyone all around, thanks just to you and your efforts.
