I'd rather not whitelist things like this. ***MAYBE*** a time-plyaed thing, but again, I just joined a bunch of servers that had timers, so the timers would expire-out...

>.> There isn nothing wrong with newbie Commander and LO, it's that they needed to be REPLACED easier.
No, I'm not talking about Democracy, not I'm talking about Veto power. I'm saying Marines who wanted to fire the CO,
*CO get fired like that, if they hear his incompetence.

Hoever, if the Marines follow the CO's order, meant that they can deal with the CO, no need to replace him.
P.S. That sounded too simple, if white-list happen, there is still LO Logistic Officer.
ALPHA, BETA, OMEGA, GAMMA, SIGMA.

We are discussing white-list possibilities for the alpha actually.

+1 5char

Also, can we whitelist the CMO in the Alpha? Way too important a role to be left to just anyone.
Sur 'Druglord' Lahzar; Field Engineer, Perpetually Understaffed and Exasperated CMO/Doctor/Researcher
Bando 'Baldboi' Badderson; PFC, Five foot ten of pure bald glory.

I'm against a whitelist for any role as it tends to stagnate the position and also adds more work for the administration team to constantly cycle through candidates to be added/removed.

There should; however, be a minimum time played on server (similar to /tg/station) before a role can be selected e.g.

(Assuming Alpha roles)
Commander: 7 days
XO: 5 days
Bridge Officer: 3 days
MP: 3 days
Squad Leader: 3 days

Whitelisting for Commander and Liaison.

Everything else you mentioned time-locked.

I agree with you, whitelisting is terrible, but timelock will prevent new users from picking critical roles and suck at them.

White-listing is one of the BEST ways to get good qualified people into a position.

The only negative it has is needing said white-listed people on. I believe within the first month of Alpha we'd have MORE than enough people to whitelist for commander.

Time-lock everything else though, seriously though.. there are enough people who have played for months who still have 0 business being in a command position.

Alpha is far too important for the role of Commander to have John Doe there.

+1, It would totally not be amazing to find the Commander running onto the shuttle with the marines screaming, "LET'S KILL ALIENS!" after having no briefing and using his all access to raid a specialist vendor.
