Seems a bit boring and from what I've seen....some people aren't up for the task......I'm pointing to the first round of the 12 hour alpha we had where some fucktard just went onto the planet and went suicidal.

I have to admit, this kind of seems like a waste of space/player slots.

Only one person can go this job per round... so not really much of a waste when we get like 30-40 on regular Cm and 100+ whenever we have the alpha.

Every slot counts, especially if aliens will be getting more initial players which I've heard something about.

The liason does/contributes what exactly to the marine camp?

Corporate Liason is not a marine job. It's an RP job. We as admins need fun stuff to do during a round just like players do, and the Corporate Liason is one avenue that we can use to do so. Sometimes we get shitty liasons, and that's fine. Sometimes we get really awesome liasons who RP really well, and makes us happy to mess around with. One of the alpha tests we had, the Corporate Liason sent W-Y a message saying one of the survivors was blaming Weyland Yutani for the massacre. So we spawned him a silenced pistol and told him to take him out; he lured the survivor to his office and shot him. Then we told him to take out telecomms stealthily, to make sure no messages got out. He did. In reward we spawned him a briefcase full of diamonds in the lifeboat, it was awesome.

And then the aliens invaded the Sulaco before they could escape. R.I.P

As long as their objectives don't fuck with the marines (which have enough problems as is) I don't have that much of a problem with this position.
