Tsar Nicholas went and blessed all his soldiers and their weapons in World War 1... Warhammer ripped of real life ;P

I mean, it's a gimmicky job, but its a FUN gimmick.

I mean, there'd be some good rp coming out of it.

I'd like to see it implemented. It would be a very cool RP option to be giving dying soldiers their last rites on the battlefield. Or to hold military funerals for unclonable marines. As for the people worried about griffing, just make it so they have to pick one of the religions in the character creation menu (so they can't make their own deathcult or 40k BS), as well as banning them from using weapons. Military chaplains are a thing in pretty much every military across the world, and could easily fit into the lore of CM.

So many +1s.
Except only one.
Because I can only give one.

I like the idea honestly. It would be like a liaison gimmick job, but debatibly more fun, because we wouldn't have to wait for an admin or mod to give us a mission, and instead, we'd be in charge of the standard little ray of sunshine for the marines via religion. Also, during executions, it would be someone who would be their to give them their rites, and hear their final confessions.

yeah, just worried that some people try to RP "le crazy chaplain" or preten he's a muslim terrorist or something.

But it's great anyway.

Oh, yeah. I mean, quoting the bible as you .44 Xenos would be badass, but since this guy is also serving as the counselor, I'm sure the USCM would get the most stable guy possible.

+1 if it's accompanied by a rule loosely static that this is Colonial Marines and not Warhammer 40,000.
(Ever noticed the ones going full empire aren't the same people who actually build the damn minis?)

I think what he means is that there's a difference between people who actually play the WH40k table top game where you assemble minis or miniatures of the units and the people who read about it on the ineterwebs and play say dawn of war. Which I argue is kind of bs because the miniatures are usually expensive as fuck.

Also +1 because I want more fun not shooty jobs so people who aren't robust can play them or people who are robust but want to take a break.

As much as I enjoy 40k, I agree with monkey on this one. It violates the "stay in character" rule to play the Chaplain and make blatent references to Warhammer 40,000.

We are, after all, a medium RP server.

This would be nice to see, and would definitely add more roleplay to the standard Marine life. Nothing really unbalanced about it, it's just a simple class for roleplay.

This would add a cool dimension to the chapel in the nexus, we could actually see a service going on in there if the chaplain RPs well enough. I think the chaplain should be a regular marine though, perhaps with the cross helmet in OatzAndHoez's post. They should also have a little cross that attaches to uniforms like webbing, you can take it off and use it on a marine for the same effect as 10u inaprovaline (non stacking), as their faith lets them ignore some pain.

+1 for all the reasons stated above, it would be awesome for RP, as long as you damn nerds keep your Imperium outta my chaplain. :P
