A exosuit of the future would be akin to a forklift or similar devices of today. They're not hard to operate, its just that using it without training is dangerous. But when the alternative is being killed by giant black alien creatures you tend to weigh the risks more towards using the exosuit.
In fact from a glance of the wiki page it seems actually using the Exosuit is very damn easy once you've turned it on, since its literally just moving your arms and legs. In fact I'd wager its easier to use a exosuit than a modern day forklift.

I agree that in a very bad pinch you would maybe be able to hold your own but a marine with no training let alone five of them using a mech designed for moving cargo would end poorly and make very little sense as it would be a waste of resources in all but the most desperate of situationsEvilkyle24 wrote: Looked pretty easy to me. She pushes like three buttons, throws two switches, and then just moves around holding the grips. I think I could operate it.
I've ran a forklift without training, most heavy equipment like that takes about ten seconds to learn how to use in a basic manner. They are designed this way for a reason, since there's no reason to make it intentionally difficult to use.
Granted, you would be clumsy and have to read the clearly labeled switches and buttons to figure out what did what, so a delay would probably be realistic, and you'd be clumsy, but I think you could do it if you had to.

Also take it for what you will be in ACM Marines are shown to use exosuits in a last stand situation.
IMO I think the crux of the problem here is the fact that Ripley's can be mass produced. I think if Exosuit's were just limited to the two in Cargo (and the one on the planet for the aggressive survivor) this would not really be a problem at all.

Now I have the scene of everyone lining up to fight aliens, then Steve runs in on his and trips, knocking down the whole line, and nobody can figure out how to stand back up.Pillow wrote: I agree that in a very bad pinch you would maybe be able to hold your own but a marine with no training let alone five of them using a mech designed for moving cargo would end poorly and make very little sense as it would be a waste of resources in all but the most desperate of situations

Marines are smart enough to make chloral?LordeKilly wrote:No. If you're a marine, don't use it. If staff are telling you it's not a combat mech, it's not, so don't use it like one. If you continue to insist, you're not going to have a good time.
But seriously though, screw the , "versitile marines" crap, because if that was a valid excuse, so would making chloral to combat them for a, "last ditch effort."

Players who continue to augment these ridiculous "It's a versatile weapon" argument, are going to be the result of it being removed. Cargo Loaders are being allowed for the purpose of loading cargo.

Easier to just remove it.
