This is evidently against the rules according to TR-BlackDragon who revived all emitter deaths on a deadhour round with 4 marines left, where the xenos had gotten an XenoERT.

I was watching that round. I see absolutely nothing in the rules that would suggest that emitter traps are not allowed.

While I don't like them, I do not believe they should be disallowed as long as they are set up by an engineer or MT.

Apparently apop has gotten onto people for setting up emitters DIRECTLY over ladders, though. and honestly, Engineers tend to be busy building actual defenses, and 90% of the time MTs set up the SM and then just sorta fuck off for the rest of eternity.

The answer then is to make a rule about it, and I'd be completely in favor of a rule where facehuggers and emitters couldn't be placed so someone using the ladder is in danger.
