Nvidia is good if you want performance but AMD has a GREAT community for their customers and support going so far as to create raptr a type of gaming program that let's you earn points from playing games that you can use to buy games or hardware. I got a star citizen ship from raptr :D

Personally I would take an AMD/ATI or AMD/Intel just for the use of raptr since I love it.

Also NEVER buy prebuilts as they will fuck you over later on when you want to upgrade. A few great websites for building is PCBuilder https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/ or others as they will only let you put compatible parts into the build you are making which helps a lot when you don't know what you are doing.

Yeah but the thing about building it yourself is that you can replace parts very easily. I got a 2 TB hardrive with my build, and i have slots for more as needed. Graphics cards are a hop, skip, and a screwdriver away from being replaced. The only this that is a hassle to change is the motherboard and/or CPU. Even the PSU is pretty easy to change.
