Aliens ripping marines apart and still having them be viable hosts is ridiculous

Awesome. Let us enjoy the ravagers cutting off everyone's legs and zoidberging around. Forget enjoying the rest of the game as a larva, and forget letting other players play as your larva. NOPE! SUCCUMBby MauroVega » 25 Feb 2016, 07:42
I agree

No more ravs near critting for nesting

You mean the minigame " stand beside nest. Wait until host gets free. Spit. Renest. Repeat"?NoShamNoWow wrote: Whole point is to WATCH the hosts so they don't escape or try to injure themselves. Really, they deserve to lose hosts when they slash them when they are already nested.
Succumbing while infected shouldn't be disallowed either, This would still affect the whole "Its been 10 minutes and I am still in unconscious crit". Whole point is. Watch. The. Hosts. Sentinels have a role to do and they should do it properly.
It's really boring for both sides.

1 on 1 nesting is boring, but succumbing just cheats a player out of a potential larva

Re: Succumbing.
It doesn't cheat a player out of anything. If aliens were doing their job and watching hosts they wouldn't be damaged to succumb.thegrandcurator wrote:1 on 1 nesting is boring, but succumbing just cheats a player out of a potential larva
If they didn't damage them pre nesting or while nesting they wouldn't be succumbing.
TL;DR: git gud, do job, and blame the xenos if marines succumb.

Something to consider here is that asshole aliums aren't the only cause of marines being in crit. If a marine goes down due to FF, gets taken and nested, and succumbs, then that's super bullshit 64.

No, its not bullshit at all. An alien should have the common sense to not waste a hugger on a crit marine. Crit marines vitals wouldn't even be able to support larval growth anywaySpanMan wrote:Something to consider here is that asshole aliums aren't the only cause of marines being in crit. Re: Succumbing.
Knowing whether or not a marine is in crit is information that most alien players don't know how to obtain with sufficient accuracy. It requires visual analysis (with knowledge of what that analysis means in term of actual damage), checking pulse, and no small amount of luck. Aliens don't get medical scanners, especially when they are busy in a battle. Expecting alien players to judge whether or not to facehug a marine based on how likely he is to live is quite ridiculous for as low def a game as CM is, and it's irrelevant to my point that permitting succumbing allows marines hit by FF who would otherwise live until birth to die and spite the xenos at no fault of the aliens'.Mitchs98 wrote: No, its not bullshit at all. examine - he has no pulse = crit, no pulse and soul has departed = rekt and ghosted.
check pulse, positive = crit, negative = rekt.

+1 I don't want to be perma crit and not dying while nested, maybe give the marines a cyanide tablet in the molar to end their suffering.

Re: Succumbing.
I think this should NOT be brought back. Marines do this to try and hinder the aliens by forcing aliens to slash them to crit just so they can deny a larva. It's already bad enough that more then half the community doesn't play as aliens. So this get all my -1

I know, that's what I meant by visual analysis. But a marine in crit and a marine who is severely wounded but not in crit can easily have the same visual damage indicators. It's not guaranteed to be accurate at all.MrJJJ wrote: Shift+Click ze marine

Minor=Low Damage
Plus damaged marines are slowed down, and may have even more damage indicators on them from examine

Re: Succumbing.
We could make the succumbing for infected marines make them burst early.TR-BlackDragon wrote:I think this should NOT be brought back. "HAHAHA I'M GONNA DENY THEM A LARVA FUCK YOU FUCKIN ALIENS HA!" *succumb* "WHAT THE FUCK WHY DID I STILL BURST. FUCKIN ALIENS! HACKS! ALIENS ARE HACKIIIIING!!!!! FUCKING HACKERS!"
That would solve alllll of our problems. We don't even have to see deadchat, we can imagine the permanently marine player screaming at his monitor because his plan to try and fuck us over a bit backfired.

People want to succumb so they won't lie down in crit for minutes in a nest, not to prevent a larva

Re: Succumbing.
I succumb to prevent larva. Considering 90% of the marines will attempt suicide once checkerboarded, I'm inclined to think most of them don't succumb because they're bored of being in a nest and are actively trying to kill themselves.MrJJJ wrote:People want to succumb so they won't lie down in crit for minutes in a nest, not to prevent a larva
Edit: I never even replied to this before. Huh. Neutral. I don't really care one way or another. I think with the changes to the critical condition this isn't that big of a deal.

Yes, yes they will, i often try to kill myself because i don't want to be stuck in a nest at least 8 minutes, and many have said they don't want to be stuck in the nest either, if someone sucumbs to just prevent larva, they really wasting they time

There has been no counterargument to just having succumbing make you burst early. As a half xeno/marine player, I would love that.

Re: Succumbing.
because then it'd not punish xenos for infecting the marines in crit, or slashing you up to crit then infecting. it'd just encourage such behavior, as stated somewhere above.
