It is the auto healing code.

Your body heals 0.2 brute/burn damage per tick, per damaged body part.

So, if you have 10 brute damage on every limb, (11 body parts, 110 brute damage)
you would heal 2.2 (0.2*11) brute/burn damage overall per second, and this can can get you out of critical if you have no internal bleeding, as eventually, limbs will be healed, and it will heal less then the blood loss gives you damage.

So basically, there's no purpose to this suggestion since it's asking for a nerf to a mechanic that doesn't exist.

Correct. A new suggestion could be made to nerf the autoheal, or something else to solve this problem, but there is no nest inaprovaline effect.

In fact, organ damage is taken in later stages of the embryo. That's the only instance that affects health throughout the entire process.

What may be happening to make it seem like player's lives are extended could be twofold: Players getting shot/clawed/dragged 200 tiles are used to dying quickly, and a player lying down (resting) in a nest causes the player's body to greatly slow their rate of death.
Well, that's possible, though, really, that doesn't explaining my experience with trying to gib myself. WHen I put C4 on myself and aliens don't nest me before it blow up I'm getting gibbed. If they DO this, I will miss 1-2 limbs and survive most likely.

c4 is just weird..I once put 5..5 blocks of c4 on myself in a last stand effort all set to blow about the same time...ran up to the nest next to the queen and stood by here for the second or two it took to detonate. Gibbed myself, queen didn't take a scratch.

You doesn't understand how C4 works. It damages/deletes/gibbs only object and tile it placed on. On next tiles you will just get some minor bruisers.
