Where as so far we've only had 1 serious issue with a Predator player who ended up quitting CM all together. They also made the Predators so it was kind of a slippery slope.
Wait .. The person who quit, what was their name again? Pretty sure I know who but, I didn't believe it when I first heard it

First hostile action predators take during the round is to ambush a group of marines unprovoked. Wounded several times, and never even given a chance to shoot back at them, I move into cover and holster my weapon so I can try to bandage myself and pull the spikes from my gut, whilst also attempting role playing at the same time. Y'know, stopping to yell in confusion, asking for cover and help, etc. Only for another predator to stand at max range, while cloaked, and shoot me repeatedly with spikes in the chest until I die. Predator steals my body from the marine trying to drag me away, cuts me into pieces, throws my head at a group of marines at the FOB and never does anything else with my carcass or take a trophy. Maximum honour killing, right there, all while under admin supervision. Retarded.

I would like to say that all my experiences with predators have been good. I understand people get salty when they die but you have to understand there are about 20 rounds a day, so just because a pred killed you doesn't mean you'll never get to play again. From what I've seen a pred round happens about 1 time every 12 rounds. Just my opinions though, so don't rip me apart

I'm going to aim this question at the marines of this all, I play pred and I really enjoy it, but nothing gets on my nerves more than suddenly five marines walking up to this giant alien thing with two scimitars talking on its vox and them being very very chill about this all. Yesterday on a round I got into an honor duel with Tyler, fire axe vs fire axe in one of my favorite duels to date. And a random marine comes along and starts to talk to me like it's nothing while I stand over the bloodied corpse of a human I'm trying to bring back from the edge of death because it was such a good honor duel. And he starts beating the shit out of my slowly healing human. To which I responded how preds do. But the thing is, some marines are just too friendly with preds, they'll see the figure in the distance uncloaked and run up to it and try to actually trade their assault rifle for my mask. Or start speaking to try and make peace talks because they don't like the 8ft tall humanoid ripping shit up. I'm not saying ALL marines are like this, some are actually fun and provide something other, fear RP that makes it just nice, just not people who lick their knives upon seeing a pred because that want that sweet pred kill and the loot who get over aggressive at a really simple emote. People handle things differently, but I've noticed a bit more of these 'lol itsh a pred, let's go hug it lolololo' which I don't even feel like hunting at that point. What's up with that marines?

There are three types of marines. "OH MY GOD, DON'T TRY RP, JUST SHOOT EVERYTHING! YOU RP!? AH SKRUB LORD, KILL EM! DAKAKAKAKAKAKAKAK!"
Those who attempt to rp
And then theirs "LOL, HUG THE PRED LOOOOOOLZ".

Same with xenos.

Though, more often than not, the first example.

Well, gentlemanly crab head, you gotta think of IC. Yes your one ugly mothafucka but marines are battle hardened fighters who don't even flinch when being shot at by 10+ rebels. Why would they be scared of an 8 foot masked figure? To us all you are is some nutcase from a colony with low gravity (low grab makes you taller the more exposed you are). Also, I get the feeling you may be talking about me since a few rounds ago I walked up to a pred standing over a dead body and a critical marine... I was following orders so... Anyway, that's just my opinion

There's not being afraid, then there's giving the alium butcher kisses and hugs.

Personally I think if we gave the xenos more hugs and kisses too there'd be a lot less death.

From what I've seen, predators are insanely strong when compared to aliens or humans. This is probably necessary as one predator gets easily swarmed by many foes. Also, they're part of events a lot so they need to be able to withstand a lot of punishment in order for the event to last. This results in predators having a lot of power but also able to make the round interesting. The downside to this is that predators will be dissatisfied if they went into the role looking for good 1v1 duels. Everyone knows that they're weaker than the predator so why would they want to duel it? Ravagers get killed in a couple of hits depending on the melee weapon the predator uses. I'm not sure if predators will be nerfed in order to be comparable to a strong alien because that'll mean they'll die more and less robust predators won't be able to RP as much (cause they'll be dead). So, predators will have to get used to non-suicidal players running away from them.

Predators are as strong as they are, because despite their attempts at any rp (this is in my expierence), teams tend to go "LOL, KILL IT WITH HUMAN WAVE TACTICS", and int just leaves a sour taste in your mouth.

Probably the worst is fucking dead chat during Pred rounds.
Suddenly everyone becomes a Predator expert and it turns into a giant circle jerk.

OH MY GOD HE BROKE PREDATOR RULES
WHATTTT MAKE A PLAYER REPORT
DISHONORABLE!!!!!
FUCK PREDS.

Gets so sickening to read after awhile and 99% of the time no rules were broken. Just some guy not understanding the predator mechanics and rules yelling rulebreak left and right.

what do preds do if a human loots pred tech (outside of being given them in an honorable context)
Do we do like the EU/Requiem and kill the fuck out of whoever is needed until the problem is solved? Preds are pretty big on not letting their tech fall into enemy hands.

Though I am not whitelisted, I believe or what I have seen as observing they usually indeed freak out but seen they report to say their Elder, the Elder gave an order to get it back by any means. But from what I have seen they have gone ''Kill the fuck out of whoever is needed until problem is solved'' (Quoting from what you said) tends to happen. Those who know more may correct me if I am wrong or add on, sorta familiar with but not 100% sure.

Long time ago, I, Ka'Torag-na Halkrath, Skilled Master Hunter Of Prey, Unleashed an unspeakable evil upon Xenos and Humans! But a foolish Xeno Hunter wielder of robustness stepped forth and opposed me. Before the final blow was struck, I tore a gate of Salt of Solitude and flung em into the world of CM, and took out their Facehugger Capabilities! Now, this Xeno Fool seeks to return the favour, and undo my evil reign and of many other predator predecessors!

Your opinon generally runs contrary to mine, and it appears your math does as well.

Rounds last 2-3 hours on average so you'd expect 8-12 rounds per day maximum.

I'm fine with how they come into play. Don't mind that they have a little bit of OPness in them either. I go with what I've learned in the movies and judging by that, Predators are pretty much on point. That's my standpoint on their potential impact, although my perception naturally changes if the role is misdirected and used to create havoc too early on during a round, on either side.

I'll have to say that I find their options in regards to roleplay rather limited though. I don't expect marines to try and strike up a conversation with these dudes, quite the opposite actually. The same goes for the Xenos. With the way the game's set up and the lore in mind, I don't think any faction should approach another and expect a warm welcome and I'm okay with that. Marines trying to establish some sort of peaceful contact with Predators and/or Xenos makes me shake my head, I mean have they not seen the movies? These things are creepy and intimidating as hell! If I were to ever see any of the previously mentioned (Predator or Xeno) in real life, it'd be fight or flight, preferably the latter.

With that said, I'm not really sure if Predators are worth the offset in balance. I suppose it adds some variety at the very least and is beneficial as such, as long as they're not an every-round occurence - which they are not.

I've talked to Coroneljones about this but predators should really have their own chatroom in slack or discord! It'd make it easy for those whitelisted to talk about applications, rule changes, tactics, and other things so all predators are generally on the same page. (Plus, you could brag about what you've done in there. -Coronel's idea hehe).

Though I'm not whitelisted myself, that does sound like a genuinely good idea. I'd be surprised if nothing similar has already been implemented.

After all, the best way to cut down on cases of people doing the wrong thing and such is to provide a chance for them to ask about the legitimacy of it before actually doing it.
