i'm all for disallowing the shuttle recall so long as it also disables joining as the larva.
maybe marine latejoins, too. then it will indeed be a game-ender, a real all-in thing.

I really like this idea, except maybe once all of the aliens are off of the ship late joining could be re-enabled. Coming up with an efficient way to do this could be bothersome however.

I'd support this. However, it brings up an important question:

What if a xeno misses the shuttle to the Sulaco? They're on the planet, and if the shuttle can't be recalled, what are the marines to do?

So here's what I'm thinking... They wouldn't be able to recall the shuttle until either A) The Queen is dead or B) All of the xenos on the Sulaco are dead. And THEN they can go and hunt the remaining xenos.

Theres already existing rule which prevents marines to fortify their totally undefended ship (because everybody knows that battle turrets and blast doors on military grade ship totally not useful...yep). So basically TS want not only to let xenos freeroam on dropship like they all borned pilots but also easily penetrate ship defenses and land in opened hangar like a pros while all marines should be like 'oh alien lifeform murdered everybody on ground and coming to us? Nah lets just return to cantina'.

I may suggest 3 ways when TS's idea may be valid 1) Sulaco instead of being useful cargo ship will become normal battleship and will be able to 50\50 destroy dropship with cannons while it flying, 2) aliens wont be able to come on board in two minutes because Im really not sure that Queen can use autopilot or operate ship manually to reach Sulaco in two minutes instead of five-ten or even more 3) hangar will become real military hangar not a crappy cargozone without defense blast doors normal walls instead of paper walls and no possibility to cut dozens of entries to at least one-two.

I like this idea

I might have a suggestion, each time the shuttle takes off it does a quick scan of its contents (mostly the tiles inside) to get a quick guess whats on board and factor that into some formula to change refueling times since it is a tad strange the Crushers, Queen, and Ravagers don't affect fuel consumption at all even though they are suppose to be over a ton or so each. To maybe a max of 10 minutes because I do find it strange that it takes as long to refuel the shuttle when you transport a couple of marines compared to one carrying 4 squads since each marine will be around 250lb or 113.4 Kg (Average weight of a human + average weight of stuff soldiers generally carry on them)

I also have to say -1 to the idea of having the MT refuel the shuttle since that makes MT a crucial role that will likely not be filled on later hours. So the marines are shit out of luck unless they break into engineering to steal the equipment to refuel the shuttle. If someone is going to say this will never happen I think I can name several times during later hours where the marines couldn't even find someone who could operate the shuttle

Seeing as how the hangar can no longer really be "defended" like it used to be, does anyone still want this topic? Otherwise I am going to put in for this to be locked.

I'm locking this for now. In the future we should have better shuttle mechanics.
