+1 from me
As to who would be in charge just give them an SL. The only difficult part is the squadron bays would have to be remapped to facilitate an extra engineering squad now.

Re: Combat Engineer Detail
+1 here. It seems that half of the time, the combat engineers often end up sticking at the FoB anyway, unless their team is told to secure engineering. Not to mention, having a "squad" situated entirely of engineers could end up with some interesting roleplay opportunities, and although it's been stated above, an FoB made by a continuous team effort seems like a super fun idea.

+1, engineers are always assigned to FOB duty. This should make it less boring for them.
Just some funny moments.

Not always and it's omg how terrible to be on recon duty with one hand busy with sentry crate.Imperator_Titan wrote:+1, engineers are always assigned to FOB duty. This should make it less boring for them.

Re: Combat Engineer Detail
+1. Personally, i think it will help the game go a little smoother.
As command, im forced to assign objectives based on which squad has an engineer, instead of which squad would be more suited to work. I would like to have the ability to assign my engineers to a seperate details or specific missions.
Now, the intersting point that this digs up though. Is this suggestion a result of not being able to easily group troops together at round start?
It would be pretty great if squad assignment was a little bit more smoothed out, as well as being less of a hassle to reassign troops to diffrent squads on the fly. I think thats where the root cause of the problem is,somthing somthings squad assignments or such, but this would be a nice work around solution till more deeper analysis of the cause is done.
But, this also opens up gameplay problems, which will require solutions. with all the gear now gathered in a central place, we need to have a way to prevent 1 or two engineers from grabbing 8 engineers worth of equipment, say at low-pop rounds or such. I had a small idea bumping around in my head of tying equipment vending with the unique keys of the ID-card, so only x trooper can get Y number of unique equipment.

Gaze upon me,

But seriously, does uh, anyone know the way out?!

Much easier to coordenate them
Much easier to coordenate them
On May 17, 2016, a group of farmers dug up the diary of an ear of corn named Watson. Here are his entries.
Day 76:
They took Lawrence, dear god Lawrence... They ripped him off the stalk and smeared him in butter, just like Tyler and Jodie. They shipped him off to the popcorn factory...
I wonder what his wife will say.
Day 120: My brother says the VEGANS are protesting for more anti-meat bullshit. They want more of us to die. FUCKING HEATHENS.
Day 153: The ants are eating me from the inside out. They are popping out my kernels and taking them back to the nest. I feel them moving inside me. Julia says the pesticides will end our misery.
Day 300: Sweet Release. I can hear the planes flying over now. They are dropping the gas, it feels so good, sweet release-

Re: Combat Engineer Detail
+1 Really great idea, considering we still use the colony maps.
If we ever use the Nostromo map again then this wouldnt really work as well.

Re: Combat Engineer Detail
I do agree, I think maybe a green or something like that would suit the engineering squad. Maybe it could be a toggle, used by commanders, or engineers wear green with a sort of armband that's coloured to their base squad? They already have different helmets from the vendors, you could use their backpacks or their helmets to show what squad they're originally a part of.XenonDragneel wrote:But... Yeah, Apop himself said that we won't be going back to Nostromo because it's out-dated and some more stuff which I forgot because I'm an idiot.Enceri wrote:I don't think we're ever going back to it, I thought I saw someone say they won't.

This is likewise where bramb began saying he lives in albania. They additionally continued pinging me with the albanian banner. They called me female. They called me gay. They said I have down disorder. They called me different names too. Also, bramb said he lives in albania when he professes to live in The Netherlands too. Lying again.

Re: Combat Engineer Detail
question, we would need mapping changes to better suit the new engi unit. Perhaps somewhere in lower engi they're lockers and prep area could be at. Like the hallway between the firing range, the hanger, and atmos. nornal marines would no longer have access and only the CE and the combat engis would have access to the weapons(not mt's but they can still go through the area)

Re: Combat Engineer Detail
+1, engineers get access to the tools they need to do the job, can be allocated to the squads that need them, and won't get banned for powergaming as they won't need to break into engineering so they can have more than 1 stack of metal for the entire game.

Re: Combat Engineer Detail
Most support roles are pretty independent most of the time, but Combat Engineer is the most independent since they tend to just stick to the FOB and their ability to build is most useful there.
