Re: Moonlight Test
I think that the best way a moonlit map could work is if the entire map was on a single Z-level like LV is, but where a majority of the map was interior, cutting off the moonlight. While moonlight is a cool concept to play with, the stark truth to it is that that any amount of lighting tips the terrain in favor of the xenos. The only way I could see a full on moonlit map would be if marine's range of vision was cut off by walls, doors, and other constructions. As it is now, marines can shoot pretty much anything they can see, so darkness is one of the fundamental factors of this server.
I'm stressing way too hard about what to put here, so I'm just gonna leave it blank.... or....

Re: Moonlight Test
An interesting thought would maybe have "cloud" systems overhead that block and reveal the outside light as time goes on, on a slightly random but understandable basis.
ex: The map starts out pitch black and cloudy, but maybe after 50 minutes or so, the heavy clouds/atmosphere blocking the area move away, and for 15ish minutes, the area is dimly lit by the moonlight. after 15 minutes, another heavy cloud system rolls back up and its pitch black for another 50ish minutes. This change can be symbolozed by either MOTHER reporting that the clouds are shifting soon, or Aliens with a hive mind message saying that the clouds are shifting soon as well.
This could work for the ice map because we already have a heavy lighting system present, which symbolizes clouds. It might also work for the colony due to the strange weather created by the atmosphere processor present on the planet. Food for thought.

Gaze upon me,
for I have wandered deep into the ancient tombs of knowledge to which lie madness and sorrow, cleansing a path for all those who walk behind me...
...
But seriously, does uh, anyone know the way out?!
~Furthermore, I consider that Floodlights should no longer be destroyed.~

Actually, this kind of lightness from screenshot is logical and fits Ice Colony, since it's really not dark in area, covered with ice, if Moon isn't closed off by clouds. But Lazarus doesn't need this.
