Hero of the day for me has to be 'Patches' the Doc', damn great doctor. She sorted Jane out on Ice colony after being royally messed up by a runner (killed it point blank with the Shotgun + foregrip + barrel extension) and infected by huggers. After that, she attempted to convince Jane not to get herself brigged for taking a sleepy marines coif to keep herself alive, which was wise because when Jane returned to Engineering, the marine was still alive, albeit their body temperature was 15 degrees.

Hero of the day? Ray Dubi, that man has pulled me out of hell at least 5 times in the past week when he's on. I don't mean a simple drag from the front, I mean from aliens that have taken position where I fell and him fucking risking it all.

I'll basically notice anyone that isn't a standard and does their job well. Medics usually go unnoticed so I try to always thank them, engineers are hit or miss but a good FOB I seriously notice.
SL is usually the victim of command hate.
Specs can either be amazing or dissappear quietly like a PFC ten minutes in.

Its a shame too because I know some standards who do as much if not more than non-standards in keeping marines alive, pushing xenos back, and coordinating assaults alongside charging into the thick of battle just to pull a single dude out of harms way.

They usually die early, but they die saving at least 5 people or more.

Osalaa Wooki a perfect standard since pre-alpha, John'Spartan'Murry a good standard that listen to orders very well, Bill Carson a annoying ass a RP command guy, Erin Kowalski a good executer(not), I still have more and a lot of peeps that aren't "famous" around the server... (which I forgot their names) But I do have a lot of them that are competent, robust, smart, loyal, nice, funny, friendly and brave....

And mostly importantly if a player didn't leave a man behind... they are all of that...

RP'd and did paperwork with me as a Liason's assistant for the entire round. RP hero of the day, 2 hours of nonstop paperwork and banter in an office, it was fantastic. The researcher played along too and wrote us a big ass report of xeno biology. Much heroes, wow.
