Flares are super reliable. they light up the place and act as an "area denial" for xenos... area denial you ask? well if marines see a xeno they shoot, so the aliens play more cautiously and don't just rush/surround you if they see you got the place lit up. Additionally, flares also provide a small comfort that there aren't any aliens lurking in the shadows while you transport the supply crate to and from the FoB.

5. Boredom: Being a marine involves a lot of sitting on your ass waiting for command to give the go ahead on a push to the north, all the while being pelted by acid blobs. People get bored and frustrated, and start trickling north or chasing wounded xenos just so they can actually enjoy the game. Xenos can begin engaging marines almost immediately.
Correction, Xenos MAY engage marines immediately if their queen allows it. Being a xeno can be just as boring at times. At least marines have roleplay options, xenos don't have much in the way of idle banter. Drones and hivelords are expected to work themselves to death, while T3s are forced to sit in the hive while they mature until a threat comes towards the hive. Hell, even being a runner or sentinel can be a very dull experience, with runners being demanded to mature before daring to venture out, while sentinels are expected to guard hosts.

Then again, it varies from queen to queen, and moreso if aliens listen to their queen or not. Many people tend to forget that xenos are expected to listen to the queen, no matter if you agree with her tactics or not.
Sometimes, bravery comes from the most unlikely sources.

Alot of shit my dudes

Gonna be honest with you, sniper specalists are horrible. No its not because you are 'good' with the weapon: Or that you lack the ability to use it correctly, its purely because the sniper is a pile of shat.

(I'd love to play sniper you look cool as fuck, but its fucking useless, so i don't)

All the other weapons are miles better: This is mostly about the smartgun and the SADAR which are of hell of alot better than the sniper.

The sniper was designed in that a marine can ignore armor and do strait up damage to a xeno, and with the addition of being at a long range. But this doesnt happen, young crushers, young runners, (etc) can easily bounce 50 caliber sniper bullets for who knows what fucking reason. I'd love to defend the sniper as a sick spec weapon but it lacks DPS, as a alien can survive the first round then fuck off because they have the smallest bit of health left. A xeno cant do this with a SADAR due to the fact it stuns, and does AOE damage. (not to mention looking fucking cool awhile doing it) The smartgun does good pen and norm damage + no FF + high RPS output = awesome weapon. The sniper is just so useless and outclassed by the other options it almost makes me cringe when i see a sniper out in the field, or a dead one lying in a nest.

Alot of the fact aliens are better than marines is that they are bulletproof (mostly), can easily heal and re-position quickly, they dont need guns, they dont need armor, they dont need headsets, etc.

I could talk also about how marines themselfs tend to bitch unlike real marines and wander off and die REALITY: We are playing a online free video game, we cant accomplish that.

In here no one is the main protagonist, we are just grunts of the USCM.
Well it was worth a shot, goodbye everyone.
You will never be as bad as the baldie who picked up a tactical shotgun while a hunter was pouncing on top of a CMO for 4 seconds, with his only response being to pace around before being decap'd by said hunter. You are not Brett Kimple, and you never will be. You are not the reason why I regular MP.

Part of this, is also because a long-fought loss is more interesting than an easy victory. Marines are the "main characters" and the best stories we have are always about people who fight and lose than who easily clear the aliens out.

I agree about the hard fought losses. I'd add, FWIW, that a hard fought victory is better than any other outcome imo. If the game was more evenly balanced, I think you'd be seeing more hard fought victories and defeats, and less crushing defeats and easy cakewalks.
