Revolver and 9mm are still preety decent in damage, and its luckily just like with AP rounds for Pulse rifles, there is gonna be a lot less than 9mm

The number of guns and ammo for them would need to be fairly low in order to compensate for the relative advantages compared to the normal side-arms.

Potentially, add this to Squad position vendors instead of the main Marine vendors?Medic/Engineer/SL/Spec, that is. They are more in need of a more powerful side-arm than the average marine, seeing as they generally use them more often.

It doesn't have the full damage of the revolver and holds less rounds than M4A3. I could be mistaken about damage but I know for sure it holds a few rounds less.

Assuming the M4 series of pistols indeed is based off the M1911/M45 MEUSOC, a .45 variant would be a fine addition. The standard capacity of the M1911/M45 is a 7 round magazine, and the stopping power of .45 ACP trumps 9x19mm. Thusly it would probably be best as an intermediate pistol. More damage than the 9mm variant but less capacity. +1

+1 .45 just lowers mag cap and increases damage: Actually makes it viable against the revolver, which keep in mind at one point they were basically the same.

That is before they nerfed the hell out of the ROF of the 9mm.

+1. As others have said, pistols are always a last resort/utility (killing huggers and etc) and afaik it's balanced compared to the other pistols.

It is, there is also another model of bullets for it called M901 which is meant to be more armor piercing (and what you can get if you hack marine vendors, tho it just says AP rounds)

+1, right now it's useless, it should be leveled with the .44 so you'd consider carrying either.
