Throwing Knives: Bald gimmick or OP Man Hunter weapon?

Post by Heckenshutze » 08 Dec 2016, 11:33

I'll start with my opinion: Throwing knives aren't useless at all, they're amazing killing tools when it comes to humans, specially DS and Iron Bears.
Marine: Ruben Dario

They are indeed GREAT against humans. They're severely underused because the main enemy is Xenos, though.

Depends I remember I fought off many marines though wasn't damaged until maybe fourish throwing knives were impeded into my chest. They are quite deadly when used correctly, doesn't anybody remember those days at one point you chuck a knife and a xeno would explode? I remember that happening once during xenos boarding.
"Young Carrier (920) (follow) hisses, "Shut up both of you or we aren't going to invade disneyland."

Long time ago, I, Ka'Torag-na Halkrath, Skilled Master Hunter Of Prey, Unleashed an unspeakable evil upon Xenos and Humans! But a foolish Xeno Hunter wielder of robustness stepped forth and opposed me. Before the final blow was struck, I tore a gate of Salt of Solitude and flung em into the world of CM, and took out their Facehugger Capabilities! Now, this Xeno Fool seeks to return the favour, and undo my evil reign and of many other predator predecessors!

I myself made a topic asking why they were so rare on the field.

Apparently, while they might be good against humans, most of the time they just bounce off xenos, and that is if you can even hit them in the first place.

Considering how much space you'd need to carry enough knives to survive, it would be more a burden than a challenge, which is a shame, because you'd think that a throwing knife would be a nice weapon to have. Even the SMG is a better weapon than it, and while I don't agree that SMGs are shit... They are still weak weapons compared to the Pulse Rifle.
Sometimes, bravery comes from the most unlikely sources.

I mean, to be fair, there is a reason they aren't used, because they can actually kill even a ravager.
Other things are just much easier and get you better results quicker and with less risk involved, its much more simple and easy to shoot a ravager with a pulse rifle than throw knifes at it.
Why would i want to use something that makes me slower, more open, require higher skill and put me in a bigger risk when i can just shoot at things?

(I am still dreaming of a entire marine team just using only throwing knifes)

They are pretty useless against Xenos, hitting with it is extremely hard since the slow travel time and even then it won't do enough damage, much better if you just use a shotgun.
If you ever wonder when did I really start hating incompetent people read Crab Spider's signature... I was that CMO.
