Disallow Spitter Cheese
Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary): Disallow/ban for spitters shooting people through walls. It's a bug that's allowed for some reason. It's no different than putting huggers under walls or hugger stacking, which are also cheesy bugs that can't be fixed.
Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole): Helps to curb cheesy, unbeatable stuff in the game.
Implementation (Optional, if you have an idea how to implement it): Punish people that do it, similar to hugger stacking.

Re: Disallow Spitter Cheese
They don't shoot through walls bro, they use diagonals, which is cheap as fuck because of how hives are mainly checkerboard fuck-fests, but marines can do it too, so that's life.

I know that they specifically use diagonals, but it's effectively shooting through a wall, so.

Marines can do it too. It sucks, but it's possible for both sides.

+1, it's pretty much shooting through a wall and makes one spitter be able to keep four marines down til they burst because of how cheesy that method is, you'd actually want a chance to gun the walls and him down instead of GG'ing the moment you get nested

Re: Disallow Spitter Cheese
I have repeatedly been shot through the resin doors while they were closed. I do not know how it is done or why it's allowed but it happens in about 85% of games if captured. I don't play Xeno's and I very rarely play roles that rely on my particular front line combat skill so I am unsure if Spitters have a "splash" that goes through resin doors but usually it goes as follows:
Ready to escape > Get up > [X Weapon Out] > Spit through wall > Door opens a second later > Re-nested > Spit on weapon > Burst.
Pretty annoying.

Pretty annoying.

Re: Disallow Spitter Cheese
This is allowed since there isn't a way to easily fix this and its literally impossible to enforce this in a way, This has been confirmed (Pretty sure) among all the staff during some discussion so..this can't really be accepted.

Re: Disallow Spitter Cheese
I don't think a fix is possible without reworking the projectile system, so why not make it fair?
Xenos can shoot through ALL diagonals because of their x-ray vision.
Marines can't do that because they can only click on "visible" tiles, which is pretty annoying when light is scarce - you can't shoot in the direction you know they are because it's dark lololol.
Simply remove the requirement for tiles to be "visible" to be clickable.

I fail to see how this is unenforceable.YungCuz wrote:This is allowed since there isn't a way to easily fix this and its literally impossible to enforce this in a way, This has been confirmed (Pretty sure) among all the staff during some discussion so..this can't really be accepted.

Re: Disallow Spitter Cheese
It's a feature until fixed, because it's incredibly hard to enforce when anyone can do it, anywhere, and easily go unnoticed. At least, that's what I know. At best, this only stops nests from being diagonal'd, which is a very minor change. Right now you get instantly stunned. After this change you'd (Probably, if staff are on) have one second before getting stunned and re-nested.

Re: Disallow Spitter Cheese
This is a function of the projectile mechanics, and is not abuse. Until it is reworked or changed, it's not possible to really enforce as anyone can do it, though marines are far more capable of this. As with girder FOBs, for example. Denied.
