Yes
Why should you be whitelisted?
Due to me able to give a speech of you know instead those commanders at start who just say "Screw briefing just get down there and search for survivors". I remmember leading as commander in those good old days of Nonstromo distress. I would actualy care about my marines as in encat a policy "no man left behind" If a marine got caputred I would send out a rescue team. I am able to deal with mutinys and actualy set up plans that dont involve 1 order and then command dosent give the marines orders for the rest of the round. Logistics would actualy be a thing. And please dont pay attention to the post count I have been here since well like i said Nonstromo Distress. Thank you for reading.

Re: Comrade Hakuls Commander Aplication
If a single marine who is known to be robust got captured and was confirmed to be in unknown/hostile territory what would you do?

Tell one of the squads to group up and send them on a rescue mission.

Mhmmmmm. What would you do let's say you late join in around the twenty five minutes mark and your Executive officer at the time just commenced or announced for the assault on the river and the marines actually do assault at this time margin? What would you do?

Re: Comrade Hakuls Commander Aplication
Just like that? Well I think it's usually more complicated than that. I've seen many squads sent to their deaths across the river in the hopes of a rescue mission that attempted to breach the main hive with <10 marines. Sending men into a potential meat grinder with no information sounds like a good way to thin your herd and as a leader you need to think of the whole rather than one marine no matter how robust. This isn't to say rescue attempts shouldn't be made but sending marines in without proper scouting has shown time and time again to be a bad move.Hakul wrote:Tell one of the squads to group up and send them on a rescue mission.
Leaning towards no from this answer.

Hmm the rescue squad should report then that they arent able to breach into there without reinfrosments or OB . Then I would relay them reinfrotsments . Instead of letting them charge straight into the Hive.

Ok boy, you think you tough shit? Then here is a question that'll test your leadership skills.
The FoB is under heavy attack, about 20 aliens are skirmishing with the marines, who are suffering from morale shock and wavering as the swarm slowly weakens them. How would you handle the situation as a leader with great power?

Tell the squad leads to drop OBs And call arty down . When thats done if the OBs didint do that much damadge call in a reatreat one squad at a time If the OBs did alot of damadge call in a counter attack .Renomaki wrote:Ok boy, you think you tough shit? Tell em to hold pull back reasses the situation ask if the xenos are hostiles did they find any survivors did they search everything . Then issue an Order.Shyguychizzy wrote:Mhmmmmm. So, your solution to the situation is to just throw OBs everywhere and hope they hit, and then do a slow retreat?Hakul wrote:Tell the squad leads to drop OBs And call arty down . The problem with this is that OBs are just glorified grenades, they aren't going to accomplish much on their own. Second, while it is better to do a gradual retreat over a full-scale retreat, it is still a poor idea.
Lets say you had 20 marines holding the FoB, 5 marines per squad. With your tactic, provided the number of marines don't change, you are saying that every few minutes, you would take away 5 marines from the ground, gradually weakening the fighting force and thus WORSENING the morale shock as marines start to panic, watching their numbers dwindle down as the aliens take full advantage of this. You'd be lucky to evac 10 marines before the remainder are crushed under the attackers due to the marines abandoning their positions to flee.
A good commander keeps his men fighting, a bad one makes them lose hope and break down. And when large numbers of marines break down and run, it causes a chain reaction that'll surely cost you the planet.
Sometimes, bravery comes from the most unlikely sources.

Re: Comrade Hakuls Commander Aplication
The thing is that 20 xenos vs 20 marines isint good match... So if you just keep them down there enemy realise they can just run straight trough with a couple a crushers and it would make the xenos have 30~ while I would loose all of my marines when a gradual reatreat might save most of the marines but I would still have men to Defend the sully and i wouldint have to depend fully on distress.

You sound like you have no confidence in your marine's ability to hold the line in times of desperation, nor that you are willing to put forth the effort to reinforce the marines that need the help.Hakul wrote:The thing is that 20 xenos vs 20 marines isint good match... Many commanders tend to believe that during bleak times, a full retreat to the sully and a hanger defense will win the day. 80% of the time, this fails due to poor planning, awful aim or underestimating the xenos.
I had stood my ground in far worse situations. Hell, I once was an SL who held the line with 2 sentries and a bootknife.. Against 2 CRUSHERS. CRUSHERS! And in doing so, bought time for the marines that decided to flee on the rasp.
I know that every commander has their own style, and thus they should be free to lead as they wish, but this situation is something I grow tired of. If their leader lacks the balls to fight, it is going to rub off badly on the marines fighting under you.
