Why should you be whitelisted?

Let me begin by first telling you about myself and why I play space station 13.

I first discovered Colonial Marines in August 2015, my first time on the server I think was a cargo tech. Shortly after I became obsessed with playing as the liaison. Roleplaying to create an immersive experience, and becoming wrapped up in a fictional story is the reason why I am drawn to this community. I will always look for opportunities to create a fun, nonrule breaking narrative whether or not it ends badly for my character (ICly).

Now let me tell you why you should vote for me.

I am not a meta commander, I don’t give marines special treatment and I uphold marine law to keep a sound minded ship. When I command I expect the crew to give me 110% effort when I give orders to the XO down to PFC’s. Throughout my history as a commander I have created a reputation of a guaranteed loss for a round, but do not look at that history in distain. I have learned and understood what and what doesn’t work when it comes to this stressful position. I know how to delegate tasks to my XO and Bridge Officers to keep the operation progressing. Being a Bridge Officer is another extremely important position I have served in countless times, and I understand the relationship, communication and trust required to enable an effective fighting force.

As a commander I tend to give special orders to squad’s and sometimes individual marines in order to adapt to situations, I believe I have the strategic ability to effectively crush the future enemies of the USCM. With that stated I have a 0 tolerance for combat personnel who do not follow orders, it endangers marines who do follow orders and ruins the bigger picture.

I order my XO to protect the ship and arm all personnel and report to the hangar and lock the bridge blast doors. The bridge is an essential place and must be protected. Then depending on the ground situation I send the marine force to LZ1 to attack the aliens OR send the strongest 3 squads back to the Sulaco on the pod to repel the attack. If the aliens take over the Sulaco I can have the remaining forces from the planet come back to the Sulaco at a strategic time to attack the Sulaco invaders from behind opening up a counter attack.

I don't want to be biased, and I do think that deep down, you are a good person... But I can't help but feel that, if you get the position, you'll struggle to be able to inspire marines to give their best.

Hell, most of the time people just scream for your death to happen or treat you like shit when the round has barely started, and due to your meme status, people don't take you seriously.

I want a commander who can inspire confidence in his men, who can keep them fighting when all goes horribly wrong. I want a leader that didn't get to where he was at due to his connections, but because he really is a good person who I feel comfortable serving under, who I am willing to die for.

I don't care if you lose every round you lead, as long as you lead them as a good person who doesn't act like a shithead for the sake of memes. I want a leader who I can have faith in. I want a CO who is a leader and not a walking joke that no one believes in.

Can you BE that person Carson? Can you?

Bill Carson, despite some of the shit he gets, has always been a commander that inspires confidence and trust in me. One of my favorite COs due to his take charge attitude. Most COs nowadays are pussies who let marines walk all over them. Barely 15 mins into the round, most marines are wandering around not listening to SLs at all. Bill Carson takes no shit and gives no fucks. He gets the Job done and ensures that marines are in line.

what do you do?

First thing is to calm the troops with a legitimate order they can understand and agree on, which would be protection of the doctors.

Upon knowing that the mission is FUBAR I would create a last line of defense along the upper east side of the Sulaco but quickly position doctors in the messhall or briefing room. Other than that is up to how hard we fight and how many enemies are at our doorstep. I have full faith that the marines would do their job. Oh and call that distress beacon, can't forget about that one.

I don't believe I have ever seen carson be a meme outside of CL. He makes rounds fun, is a generally non-toxic and enjoyable guy to be under the Command of, and leads his men to the best of his ability. +1

In my opinion Bill Carson gets meme'd on unfairly. I distinctly remember an incident when marines were blaming Bill Carson for a mutiny despite the fact that he awoke as command from cryosleep/entered the round 10 minutes after the mutiny had already started, gone planetside, and then escalated again back on the Sulaco. There was no possible way he caused the mutiny (I was ghost observing the whole round) and yet people still blamed it on him IC and in deadchat.

Personally, I've been part of squads Bill's been SL of and he's done a good to great job as SL. Willing to give him a shot at CO.
