Research stock parts
Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary):
Make stock parts useful (Manipulators, matter bins, etc)
Allow stock parts to improve equipment when replaced with higher tier stock parts.
Allow for the improvement of machines.
Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole):
Quality of life improvement.
Generally gives a purpose to research.
Research would become a viable and much more interesting role in the sullaco.
Added dynamic to the SUllaco and marine team.
Details (Description of how you think this would work, the benefits, etc):
Give stock parts stats so that they can be used on the respective equipment and buff them accordingly.
CE could upgrade stuff too, it's just normal assembly, re-introduce normal mechanics on improving machinery.
Implementation (Optional, if you have an idea how to implement it):
[N/A]
PS: This've been out for way too long imo, research need an update after all the nerfing so here's the suggestion.

CM was obviously inspired by Starcraft: Ghost opening. At least when marines takes too long to deploy.

Re: Research stock parts
Can you expand on this? I really have no idea what this suggestion is for? Is it for venders or... what?
You will never be as bad as the baldie who picked up a tactical shotgun while a hunter was pouncing on top of a CMO for 4 seconds, with his only response being to pace around before being decap'd by said hunter. You are not Brett Kimple, and you never will be. You are not the reason why I regular MP.

Re: Research stock parts
I think it's about letting research upgrade machines by using more advanced parts (picomanipulator vs basic manipulator and such). This would be pretty amazing in my opinion since RnD runs out of things to do pretty quickly once you know what items to use to max out research levels. Then it's up to the marines to bring back aliens for you to cut up or helping out Medical with moving new clones around/making upper level cloners.
Edit (for update): +1 It would be neat to upgrade machines in Medbay to be more effective and it would be a welcome addition if you don't want to go the "chem nade" destructive researcher route.

Re: Research stock parts
Uhhh, even with the update this is a little unclear for me. When you say machines in medbay, which ones and what upgrades would they get?

Re: Research stock parts
Essentially this suggestion asks to make the stock parts that you would use to make a machine, like a cloner, and the more you research, the better parts you can get, those parts can be very usefull, on TG if you can get T3-T4 stock parts you can use autocloning.

Re: Research stock parts
Already in atleast partially, Upgraded parts in a freezer cool significantly faster.
you however cannot upgrade 99% of the default machines on the sully due to them being magically superglued together so you cant deconstruct them.

Re: Research stock parts
Yea well, I'm asking that all machines be upgradable to some extent or another for that the stock parts are barrely useful except for a specific set of available upgrades.
Machines that intake chems / materials are the target of my suggestion, as I have no idea what to do of vendors.
