On average, how many hours are you available per week to moderate?
Very dependent on workloads and such. However, I'd say POSSIBLE hours of almost any given week could be around 20.
Do you have any previous experience in being staff (not just SS13)?
Long story short I was a admin3 on BRP before going to HG as its head of staff, and after that I worked at phoenix ending at the rank of headmin

I don't think any count as previous servers

What are the 3 biggest servers you play on besides CM?
Really all the other server I played on died

Definitely, had to use it to keep up with clients when I was working as a web developer.
Common Staff Situations:
Write a description of what you would do in each situation (BELOW) the situation. If you start it on the same line, I'll assume you can't follow directions and auto-decline your application.
1. A player is firing his weapon in the briefing area near the start of the round.
Take whatever action needed to stop him from firing the weapon (whatever happens to be possible at the time.) Launch an investigation on the player's background to see if they've had any similar issues and proceed to mete out whatever punishment or lack of thats needed.
2. The Sulaco has a breach to space.
Given I'd be a mod call an admin and in the meantime try to figure out who caused the breach. Afterwards refer to the second part of the first response.
3. The marines want the nuke codes because they claim they are losing too many marines. There are currently 4 aliens and 20 marines in your /who.
Simply deny it, theres not much more to say here a nuke wouldn't make RP sense or game sense.
4. A Sulaco researcher has made several napalm grenades and hands them out to marines. One of the marines throws the grenade into Logistics. There are no admins or other moderators online.
Refer to my response to situation 1, I'd also attempt to find a way to minimize damage within RP via messages to players (assuming I'd be a mod)
5. A played is starting to talk about the things he did with your mom last night over Ahelp.
Ignore it, unless the person for some reason continually sends these messages, then give them a warning followed by a ahelp mute.
6. You notice a marine with a name that doesn't fit our naming rules.
Warn them, put it in their notes and then attempt to find a way to change the name in-round.
6a. The marine is arguing that: They've used the name for several years, noone has told them to change it before, and that they didn't know it was a rule.
Tell them it doesn't matter, and explain that different servers work very differently to eachother, our server doesn't allow it. Also, its fine they didn't know because for now its simply a warning and will only be an issue if they break the rule again.
7. You see a Sulaco Doctor with an M41A rifle strapped to his back running around the briefing area. There are wounded in medbay, and the other doctor is in surgery.
Tell him to put the rifle down and go do his job, note the incident and tell him hes not allowed any weapon larger than a pistol. If he continues to behave as though he were a marine jobban him from medical.
8. You see a Squad Medic performing surgery on the planet. He claims it was because there were no doctors in the FOB.
Point to the job specific rules under marine rules. If he can't get a doctor then no surgery may occur. If he fails to comply, job-ban. Note it either way.
9. The round is stagnating. There are 30 marines and 4 aliens. The marines won't leave the Sulaco, and the aliens won't attack. What would you do, to "encourage" the sides to engage each other?
Given the ability to do so I give the marines some sort of RP que that theres something planetside they may need to investigate more. Forcing the aliens to move away from home turf here would be unreasonable.
10. The round ends, and a marine starts unloading his weapons on other marines.
Point to the rule on end of round grief and slap a three hour ban on them.
11. A marine who has recently awoken is using soap to slip other marines.
Question him as to why hes doing it note it down in the playernotes and steadily escalate as the situation requires from no farther action to a short ban.
12. A marine has killed another marine. When you ask him why, he said it was because the other marine had punched him.
Explain to the player the RP requirements of the server and after some sort of understanding has been made ban accordingly.

I have a very standard method to dealing with all situations that simply adapts as its called for. The information I have on this application is minimal so what I have at my disposal, the severity, and player attitude aren't clearly defined SO I can only give you very basic responses. However, my old work /should/ speak for itself.

I really like the answers you gave and cant find too much issue.
Mods can't change names at all its an admin thing.
But mods do have a verb to seal breaches.

Howdy Mord, good to have you back. I'm pretty sure you weren't removed, so you just have to PM feweh, rah or apop about being reinstated. Application isn't necessary.

I resigned but its been a while since I was staff.

It kind of bothers me, although, how when I returned and made an app with spotty activity, I got tons of -1, even with prior staff experience here.

I actually asked Mord to reapply like normal due to the fact he had been away a longish time.
Either way I can see that both the community and staff support Mord's return, No notes and Decent Answers. Definitely a Positive +1
